MATH
Our first 3 months of school have gone by so fast! The 4th graders adjusted quite well to Singapore Math as we have moved in to some higher level math skills with double digit multiplication, long division and fractions! The fraction unit was our longest and most involved of the year. We will continue to re-visit fractions throughout the rest of the year.
The first 3 days back from our break will be spent on a mid-year review/assessment. This will give the students a chance to use what they've learned this year so far, and me an opportunity to assess where they are and know areas I need to work on with individual students to help them achieve mastery.
You will notice more math homework coming home as we move into the second half of the school year. Up to this point, the 4th graders have been delving into some new territory in math. The rest of the year will involve teaching them how to use those skills and concepts in more practical ways.
