Welcome to the realm of the Sea Witch.
The path of the Sea Witch is a Solitary one. Sea Witches today are now finding their path and becoming aware of those who are also practicing the Ancient Craft of the Sea. The Sea Witch may choose to be Wiccan, or not. The path is one of freedom of choice as it is with many pagan paths. This Sea Witch is Wiccan. In my Solitary practice and in my life I live by the Wiccan Rede, in a short version it is basically this:
"Bide the Wiccan Law ye must, In perfect love and perfect trust... Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill: 'An it harm none, do what ye will.'"
The path of the Sea Witch is one of alignment with the elements and energies of the Sea. Through study and personal choice and interaction, we each connect with our own patron Goddess and God of the Sea. The cauldron waters of the ocean are from whence we came. In essence the womb of the Great Mother Goddess. As Her children we connect with Her at the Shore or by our interaction with the Elements. We are one with the Elements. The Element of Water, the domain of the Ancient Ones. The Element of Earth in the Sands of the shore and the salt of the sea. The element of Air, in the brisk ocean winds. The Element of fire in the radiant Sun that gently caresses the western seas at twilights end. The Element of Spirit, from whence all life came by means of the Goddess.
My love for the Goddess and the Sea knows no limits. I am a child of the Ocean Mother and Her Consort. As such, it is my desire to help any who may seek to follow the path of the Craft of the Sea. This page is the beginning of this part of my life journey. To be one of the lights on the path of the Sea Witch. Thay we may journey together and come home to the Sea.

The Tools of the Sea Witch
The tools of the Sea Witch do not differ much from the tools of Witchcraft in general. They are listed here and may be added to or omitted as each sees fit.
The Wand: The Sea Witch may choose to create her wand using driftwood found at the shore. Such wood having been empowered by the waters of the Sea. The Athame Besom Incense Mop and Bucket Cauldron Censer Goddess Symbol Candles Pentacle Disk Incense God Symbol
The Altar
The Altar of the Sea Witch may differ in its decoration and depending upon the working. If the Sea Witch is at the shore, then the Sea is her/his altar. Workings and ritual can be as informal or as formal as desired. One may simply choose to honor the Ocean Deities by facing the Sea and invoking them and connecting in this manner. Or one may choose to cast a circle in the sand and set up the actual altar in the center of the circle and conduct ritual or do workings. In any case, I have found it best to place the Altar in the center of the circle for ease of movement. At the Sea I like to face the Ocean and begin my circle casting (if I am doing so) facing the West as this is where the Ocean lies in my area. This too is a matter of personal choice.
Workings at Home
It is not always possible for many followers of the Sea Witch path to be physically present at the Ocean or Sea Shore. Living inland is no reason to feel one cannot follow this path. We can interact with the Ocean Mother at a lake or river, a stream or brook, or before our altars at home where we would place a few shells, a cauldron or chalice of sea salted water, some holey stones, driftwood and any other Sea symbols we may have. The Ocean Mother knows our limits and She is there for us.
