If you come across a Sea Star that is no longer alive, you can honor its memory by placing it on your altar as a pentagram of the Sea. Feathers: There is much bird life at the Sea Shore. Feathers from these delicate creatures are a special gift and should be collected with care. Gulls, Sanpipers, Pelicans, and countless other sea birds are a joy to watch and listen to at the shore. Seaweed: It has long been believed that Seaweed, when dried out of doors and hung in the home, may protect it from fire. Seaweed can also be added to the bath to rid the body of toxins. Bits of seaweed can be used to asperge the magick circle. Sand: Can be used in ritual and workings to represent the Element of Earth. A bit of sand in the bottom of the Censer can keep the coal from overheating the censer. |

| Wooden Breadboards... or chopping boards are wonderful to use for magickal workings involving candles, etc. They are flat and any spellworkings which you may need to leave alone for a period of time, can easily be moved elsewhere on the altar if need be. These old kitched chopping blocks catch wax drippings and protect the altar and/or altar cloth from stains or damage. They are easily purchased at most secondhand or thrift stores if you don't already have one available. |
