| The following recipies are for cosmetics and are taken from Witch - A Magickal Year by Fiona Horne. All of these cosmetics should be stored in sterile glass - boil jars and then let dry by them selves. |
| Hestia's Honey Sweet Lotion Use this lotion when your skin needs a lift. You Need 6 tablespoons of arrowroot gel 30mls strong chamomile tea infusion 2 teaspoons honey 8 drops lemon juice. Method Combine all ingredients together in a sterile glass bottle and shake throughly. Keep it in the fridge and shake before use. Diana's Dose of Divinity This light facial mask will make your skin glow You Need 250ml of egg white 50ml glycerine 2 drops orange oil 2 drops neroli oil 2 drops thyme 10ml vodka Method Thoroughly mix ingredients and allow to stand for three days so that the liquid becomes clear, then decant into fresh bottle. Massage one teaspoon of the mask into your skin and leave on for twenty minutes then rinse. Medusa's Makeup Remover You Need 1 teaspoon each of dried sage and yarrow 20ml of liquid witchhazel 15g beeswax 30ml advocado oil 40ml virgin olive oil 3 drops eucalyptus oil 20ml aloe vera juice 1/4 teaspoon of triethanalomine Method Finely grind the herbs together in a mortar and pestle. Melt beeswax in a double boiler over a low heat and add oils, aloe vera, triethanalomine and herbs - stirring til well mixed. Remove from heat and beat continually until cooled and then stir in the witchhazel. It works best by warming between hands before spreading over face. Wash it off with a warm cloth. Hade's Herbal Helper This is a great skin tonic, especially for men after shaving. You Need 1/4 cup sage tea 1/4 cup chamomile tea 1/4 cup yarrow tea 1/4 cup rosemary tea 1/2 tablespoon glycerine 20 ml rosewater 10ml witchhazel 1 drop patchouli oil Mix, shake well and store in the fridge. Lilith's Lovely Lippy A lip balm to make your lips lush. You Need 15g beeswax 50ml almond oil 20ml virgin olive oil 40ml rosewater 2 teaspoons honey 2 drops wintergreen oil Method Melt the beeswax in a double boiler over low heat. When completely liquid stir in oils and rosewater. Remove from heat, leave top pan over the water and stir in honey. Pour contents into a glass bowl and beat until cool. It will thicken and go creamy white. |
