| Well, now that I have bared my soul and my deepest, darkest innermost thoughts throughout this website, I guess I have to tell you a little bit about me! I am 27 years old, and I live in a very small town in Arkansas. Actually, I live about ten miles away from that little town. Okay, I'm waaay out in the boonies! I live with my wonderful husband and my three adorable dogs. My husband and I were married April 14th, 2000, but we still feel like Newlyweds! My husband is a very supportive man who loves me no matter what size I am. He has the same struggles with his weight I have with mine. He has managed to lose 40 pounds this past year by doing Slimfast, but I don't have the will power a program like that requires! I have always been overweight, with the exception of a couple of years back in high school. During that time, I was running every day and eating all of the right foods. Of course, I was still living with my folks, and didn't have to cook! When I moved to Arkansas and began life on my own, I began to slowly gain weight. At first, I chalked it up to the "freshman 15," but it became a lot more than 15! To make a long story short, nearly eight years later, I weighed in at 250.5 pounds. I kept trying different diets and exercise programs, but they were always half-hearted attempts (I can say that in hind-sight!). What finally pushed me to the point am I at now, where I finally decided I have to lose the weight and make it serious, is a combination of a lot of different things. First, my husband's blood pressure is at the scary point. His family has a history of heart problems, and I am worried about him. Another reason is because my self-esteem is getting to an all time low. I am not happy with how big I have become. I can't find any nicer clothes I fit into that don't cost a fortune, and even if I do find something, it looks terrible on me! I want to look nice again. I want to be attractive to my husband. I want him to look at me the way he used to when we first met (I was about 170 then). There are many other reasons, and you'll find some of them in the "My Reasons" section of this site.. I am a Dental Technician, which is just a fancy way of saying I make teeth for a living. If you get any crowns or bridgework in Arkansas, Texas, Louisianna, Missouri, or Mississippi, I may have worked on it! My husband and I have three "kids," our dogs. We have two Cocker Spaniels and one half Corgi/half chihuahua. |
