Meet the Bachelorettes!!

WHITE: INDIFFERENT
BLUE: FRIENDLY
GREEN: FLIRTATIOUS
YELLOW: ENAMORED
PINK: IN LOVE

There are five girls that you can choose from to marry. Each likes getting certain gifts, and eventually after getting a multitude of them from you, she will start to really like you. When her heart level reaches a certain color, events will happen and also she will occasionally stop by your farm to give you food or a drink. Watch out, though... if you don't act quick enough, competition will move in on them! Each girl sprains her ankle and gets sick. Visit their house to find out if they are sick. When they do sprain their ankle, they are usually in the forest and mountain area. Carry them home or else your competition does it for you! Now............ let's meet the eligible ladies!!!!!

Ann

Ann, her brother (Gray), and her father own the Green Ranch. Ann is a redheaded farm girl, who was born on Summer the 14th. She is good friends with Karen. She loves tame animals, especially your dog and your chickens. She LOVES getting wool to knit. She can't really cook too well, but she likes making mashed potatoes. (You can get the recipe from her if you give her one of your potatoes.) Ann's mother died when she was little, and her only other family outside the ranch is her cousin, Rick, who owns the shop to the south of the bar and on the left of the craft shop. Ann can be found everyday on her family's ranch except on Thursdays, because that's when the farm shop closes. On Thursdays, you can find her by the fisherman's tent, by the stump behind the carpenter house, or by the pond where the Harvest Goddess dwells. She can also be found in the barn if it is raining or snowing. Occasionally, she can be seen at Rick's shop. On the Starry Night Festival, she will be in the church playing music. On New Year's Eve, she will be in the bar.
Events:
The Dream: During the night, you will have a dream about a time when the two of you went to look at birds and then fell. The next day, go to the area behind the carpenters' house, talk to Ann, and answer her question with a "yes".
Yellow Heart (Enamored): Make sure you have a cake card with some stamps on it. Then visit Ann at the Ranch, talk to her, and then leave. Ann will come to you outside the ranch and say that you dropped it. She will compliment you on the number of stamps you have.
Your birthday gift from her: woolen knit socks Extra Comments: If you decide to marry her, make sure to keep your animals happy and healthy. DO NOT LET THEM DIE!!!! If you don't marry her, then the man who will is Cliff, the wandering hobo man.
Elli

Elli and her grandmother live at the bakery to the south of the flower shop, which Elli, herself, owns. Elli was born on the 1st of Fall, and she really likes it if you give her a gift of gold milk. She also enjoys gifts of eggs, regular milk, items from her bakery, and fish. Elli spends a lot of her time in the bakery, but if she's not there, she can be found at the beach and behind the carpenters' house. On the Starry night festival and on New Year's Eve, she can be found at the church.
Events:
The Dream: During the night you have a dream about getting sick after eating mud pies. Go to the bakery the next day.
Red Heart (In Love): During the Winter, she will drop by the house to take a picture of you making moondrop water with her.
Your birthday gift from her: a handkerchief
Extra Comments: Elli's grandmother might die. Usually you see her rocking in a chair in the middle of the grassy area. If you see her in a different spot on the grass. If you don't want her to die, DO NOT TALK TO HER! If you do talk to her, and she does die, Elli will be terribly upset. Help her recover by dancing with her and asking her to ride in the balloon with you at the Planting Festival. If you do not marry her, then Jeff, the man who stands behind the bakery counter, will.
Karen

Karen, her mother, her father, and a worker named Kai, all live on the family vineyard. Outside the vineyard, her distant family member is Cliff, the wandering hobo man. Karen has a short temper and doesn't take kindly to strangers. Her father is a stubborn and angry alcoholic, and her mother just stands by when Karen and her father argue. Karen is a terrific dancer. Her birthday is the 29th of Winter, and gifts she likes are wild grapes and veryberry fruits. Karen can be found at the vineyard, at the front of the carpenters' house, at the beach, and in the bar. At the Starry Night Festival she is out at the beach. On New Year's Eve she is at the lone tree near your farm.
Events:
The Dream: During the night you will dream about a time when she was crying and someone came to help her. The next day, go to the vineyard, and you will go into the wine room. She will give you a tour, and eventually realize that you are both locked in. Find the way out through a hole in the corner behind the machine. Answer "yes," to her question.
As difficult as this sounds, try to befriend her father.
Your birthday gift from her: a charm bracelet that prevents bad weather.
Extra comments: Her vineyard can be revived. See Secrets for that information. In the winter sometime, if you visit the beach and see a cinema scene between her and her mother, then that means she is leaving, and is NOT coming back. If you do not wish this to happen, reset your game when the cinema starts, and do not visit the beach that day. If you do not marry Karen, then Kai, the vineyard worker, will.

Maria

Maria is the mayor's shy daughter who works in the library. Her birthday is the 11th of Winter, and she loves gifts of cabbage. She likes being shown insects because she LOVES bugs! Places other than the library where you could find her are: the mountain area, in or by her house, and beside the church. At the Starry Night Festival she'll be in the Town Square. She'll be playing music in the church on New Year's Eve.
Events:
The Dream: During the night, you'll dream about the library. The next day, go to the library and pick up her book, but don't talk to her.
Pink Heart (In Love): In the summer or fall, she come ask you to take a picture and go to see fireflies.
She will sprain her ankle in the library
Your birthday gift from her: a book
Extra comments: She is afraid of your dog. If you marry her, she will bring him outside of the house and will not stand for him to be inside. If you do not marry her, the jolly postman, Harris, will.

Popuri

Popuri is the pink eyed, pink haired girl who works at the flower/plant shop to the north of the bakery. Her mother, Lilia, works behind the counter, and her father, Basil, is a traveling botanist. Popuri's birthday is the 22nd of Spring, and she loves getting gifts of flowers. (duh!) She can be found watering the pavement next to the flower shop (?), at the Green Ranch, or at the restaurant in the mountains. On the Starry Night Festival, she is on the mountain above the restaurant. On New Year's Eve she is found at the church.
Events:
The Dream: During the night, you'll have a dream about a girl falling after trying to pick a flower. The next day, go to the mountain area behind the carpenters' house.
During the Spring, you'll get a letter stating that the Blue Mist Seeds have arrived at the flower shop. Plant some, water them EVERYDAY, and they will bloom. When they do, Popuri will come by and take a picture of it with you.
Extra comments: If you do not marry her, then Ann's brother, Gray, will.

Married Life
It is mandatory that you have a kitchen when you marry, or your girl will refuse your proposal. After all that gift giving, your work is finally paid off by a pink heart from your girl. The last thing to do before getting married is giving your girl one last present: The Blue Feather! It can be bought at Rick's Tool Shop. He'll sell it to you for 1000G. (980G if you're a good friend of his!) The feather is set to the B button, so when you walk up to your girl, press B. If she is at a pink heart, and if you do have a kitchen, she will say yes! You will be married that Sunday.
Giving your wife gifts is important if you want to have a child. Your happy wife will perform certain chores around the farm to stay productive and cheerful.
Chores that Your Wife Does:
Ann: feeds the chickens, collects eggs.
Elli: feeds the chickens, collects eggs.
Karen: collects eggs, occasionally drops eggs.
Maria: removes weeds, collects eggs.
Popuri: collects eggs, haphazardly waters some crops/flowers

A Bouncing, Baby Boy!
If you've gotten the baby bed made by the carpenters, then you might be ready to have a child! Give your wife gifts EVERYDAY to keep her happy. Eventually after about 1 month of married life, she will start to say "interesting" things, and become tired. About 2 months after she announces her pregnancy, she will give birth to a bouncing, baby boy. When this happens, make sure to give him gifts, too. Keep your family happy and they will grow happier and happier and happier. And you'll live happily ever after.

A Divorce?!?!?
If you're not nice to your wife, her heart will drop down in color. If you keep being mean, she'll leave you a note saying she went back to her real home for a while. You can make up with her if you want to stay married. If not, all the eligible bachelorettes mentioned above will disappear, but everyone will still agree that you are still married. (I haven't confirmed this!)
