Chapter I
It was a windy day on the coast of South Figaro. Kunom, a Moogle from Narshe, was just getting of a small ferry, over to the Item Shop, to buy supplies for the journey which lay ahead of him. "What a rough ride over!" He thought, remembering the small boat being attacked by a Leviathan. The crew would not have escaped, but fortunatly Kunom knew the Water Rondo, one of his many dances, taught to him as a child. He bought the neccesary supplies- Potions, Ethers, and a few dried meats, and set off. He was ready to start his search for the legendary Altros Esper. " The few facts about Altros have mostly been clouded with legend and mystery. However, legends are most often based on facts" he thought "So it most likely inside the Ancient Castle. I still need to find out how to get there, though". As he made his way out of Figaro, he noticed rustling in the grass behind him. He continually looked over his shoulder, but to his dismay, he found nothing. "I will figure out what it is, even if I have to..." All of a sudden he did a cool dance step and shouted "Wind Slash!" At that moment a strange creature poked its head out of the ground and began sucking in. "Oh no, a Land Worm!" Shouted Kunom, while trying to run. But it was too late. He being was sucked in!
Chapter II
Kunom pulled out his trusty Dirk, to begin battling for his life. At that moment, with a loud belch, Kunom fell out into the entrance of a castle. An Ancient castle! "This must be it!" He thought aloud, causing echos to ring through the ancient fortifications. "I heard many stories from travelers that the ancient castle disappeared. Now I know that is not true. However, I still don't know why it is here, under the ground." He joyfully ran into the great hall, not even thinking what might be there. After exploring for awhile, he found the royal quarters. He saw sitting on a desk what appeared to be a diary. "I wonder what is written in it?" He wondered. Right as he walked towards it, a Aqualia bird swooped down from the ceiling, in an attack position. Quickly Kumon shouted "Lightning 2!", and a bolt of powerful lightning struck. However, at the last minute, the bird dodged it. He quickly did a short dance step, for the Dusk Requium dance, and shouted "Cave In!" At that moment, a large stone piece fell from the ceiling and knocked the bird senseless. However, the castle started to rumble. "That must have been a base stone!" He shouted, running and grabbing the diary. He ran out of the castle just at the last minute. The ancient castle was no more! However, that was the least of Kunom's wories. Now he needed to figure out how to escape!
