Sitting here at 2:30 in the am. I just got back from work. I was updating an image for my web page. I uploaded my page tonight. Well just the beginning of it. My graphics so far look pretty good. They load quick too. That is the best part.
Today Jon put in a new mother board in my system. It is locking up still though. I think it is the heat sync on it. My processor is prolly overheating. I am going to prolly get a new one tomorrow. Hopefully that cures the problem.
One major thing that the mother board fixed was my quake2 is now working! Woo Hoo. If you all have never played quake 2 you really should check it out. It is a lot of fun. Quake 3 should be out in early 99.
I have checked out some sites that are showing some screen shots of it and it looks amazing. I really cant wait for it to come out. Another game in which I'm really looking forward to is Diablo 2. Enough said about computer games.
Last night I was sitting in bed feeling like complete crap. Yes I am still sick with this damn cold. Well last night I was saying my prayers before I fell asleep, and I asked God if he could please help me out with this cold. I cannot afford to go to the doctor so I have no choice but to wait it out.
Well I said my prayers and went to bed. Today at work a customer came in with a resume he wanted to have typed up. I was browsing through his resume when I looked at his title. He was a PA. This was more or less our conversation:
Me: Do you know what is going around as far as colds?
Him: Well there are a lot of viral infections that are going around. We are seeing a lot of them come in.
Me: Well I have had this stupid cold now for about 4 weeks and I'm soo sick of it.
Him: Have you gone to a doctor?
Ahhh my chance to sneak in some pity...
Me: No I really cant afford it.
Him: Well maybe we can work something out...
Now I am ALL about bartering with people. (for those of you who do not know what bartering is it is basically I will do my service for you if you do your service for me. IE I do his graphics, He does his doctoring. It works out great trust me!)
Me: I'm all for that.
I then grabbed his resume and said this will be taken care of. He then asked me some questions and said he would bring in some meds for me in the morning. YOU CANT BEAT THAT!!! I saved on prolly a hundred dollar doctor visit.
Now here is the kicker... Five minutes after the doc left here enters the dentist. I figured what the hell I'm on a roll here. I asked him if he ever had any graphics and such that he needed done. He said he did, then I asked him basically the same thing if he was interested in bartering. He said hell yes. Man you really cant beat this. After he left I started to think about it. It is the same thing "Communism" is based on. Now I'm all for Capitalism. I LOVE AMERICA!! But the theory behind communism is bartering. Everyone works in their trade and does things for each other.(more or less) Ideally it would be great. But in this world it is impossible. Everyone is concerned about getting ahead including this boy right here! After all this was done I thanked god for at least giving me a push in the right direction for getting over this cold. 9/30/98 MY VERY FIRST ONLINE POST!!!!
That is right this is my first post going directly on the web. Isn't that great!!! I cant wait to see if this site will actually be read or if I am just writing to myself. Either way it will be cool.
I have kept a journal most of my life, only difference being before I was writing it with a pen. It is a lot of fun to go back and read my high school journal. I swear I was a little geek. If this site is at all successful I will probably go back and post some of my high school entries to let you judge for yourself how much of a geek I was.
It is about 10:30 I got off work tonight at about 9:00. I was supposed to get off at 8:00 but I had to stay and help some customers with some jobs they needed done. I am the only one at work that works alone. Everyone else that works there are there during normal business hours. It must be nice.
As soon as I am left alone it can really suck!
My doctor friend came through for me today. He brought in some meds. So now finally after about 4 weeks of being sick I can start to shake this damn thing. He said it is prolly bronchitis -sp?? All of you spelling wizards are probably having a hay day with this site.
I had to change this site all around tonight. I went to work today and checked it out on the computers there and my background was blending with the letters. IBM makes the worst monitors.
All of our new IBM's are coming in with Mac monitors. Why you ask? Because you cant touch a Mac Monitor. They are really nice. Great resolution!
My monitor here at home is actually a pretty nice one. It is an AST. A friend of mine gave it to me because it was broke. I took it in and spent about a hundred dollars to get it fixed and whalla! I have a new 17 inch monitor. It will still flash a little on me, but hey, for the most part it works great.
I have windows 98 on my system so I'm thinking about spending the money on another video card so I can hook up my other monitor to give me 2 monitors. OK OK.. enough techno talk. Sorry bout that!
