Monkayo History:
The History
Monkayo is a first class municipality in the Province of Compostlea Valley Province. It is 120 kilometers away from Mindanao's regional center of Davao City, and some 30 kilometers from Nabunturan, the provincial center.
A legend explains how the municipality was named. It was believed to have been christened after the Mondabon- Kayo or a big tree found in the place.
