| THE NEXT DAY Howie walked up to the girl�s door and rang the doorbell. Amanda opened the door and saw Howie standing there, looking so cute in his Tommy Hilfger shirt and overalls. When Howie saw Amanda in the door way his heart jumped a beat, because she looked so pretty with her black flares, her favorite t -shirt with the unicorn on it and her hair up in a pony tail with her curls hanging loose. When Howie remembered where he was he took Amanda�s hand and brought her to the car. When they got to the theater, they went to see She�s All That. During the movie Amanda would snuggle up closer to Howie and he would smile while squeezing her shoulders with his arm. After the movie they took a walk in the park. Howie: How was the movie? Amanda: Really good, I sort of know how she feels. Howie: How she feels about what? Amanda: About being different. Howie: Oh, the witch thing. Amanda half smiled and closed her eyes. Amanda: Yeah, that. Howie looked at her and began to worry. Howie: What�s that matter? Amanda began to cry softly with her eyes still closed, but Howie could still see her tears. Amanda: It�s just that being a witch has its problems, because when you�re younger you do things without realizing that they could effect you. Realizing that she was talking about herself, Howie comforted her. Howie: What happened? Amanda: When I was younger at school I used my magic in front of people, so they thought I was weird. I had no friends until I changed schools for grade 6 and I met Amber. I found out that she had magic too, so we became best friends. Then in grade 8 we met Mandy and since she had powers too, we also became friends. But during everything we still did use the magic and the reputation of us being weird had stuck so we never had any boyfriends or friends other than each other. By now Amanda�s head was on Howie�s shoulder while she cried. Howie: I�m so sorry that has happened to you. Is that why you moved here? Amanda: Yes, and it�s also the reason why I got so mad at Amber. And she knew it. Howie: I understand now, but does Brandy hang with you guys because she�s Amber sister and has powers too? Amanda: Yeah, but I have become really good friends with her over the years. While everything Amanda was saying registered into Howie, he noticed that she said that she has never had a boyfriend before. Howie: You know, I�m really glad that you put your trust in me with this stuff and for me to be with you! Amanda looked at Howie and smiled. Amanda: I�m glad too. Amanda hugged Howie really tightly as a way of saying thanks. She also thought that since it was dark out and no one else was around she could do something special. |
