| THE NEXT DAY Amber: Howie, can I talk to you for a minute? Howie: Sure! Amber: Can you please do me a favor? Howie: Anything you need! Amber: Thanks. Um� Amanda seems to be bored with us girls, so I was wondering if you could take her out somewhere one night or other? Howie: What do you mean take her out? Amber: I mean hang out with her for one night, so she won�t be so lonely and bored. Plus this will get you to know another better, since neither of you talk to each other. Howie: I guess so. It won�t hurt to get to know her and make her less lonely for one night. Amber: Great!!! Later that day� Howie: Amanda! Amanda turned around and faced Howie. Amanda: Yeah? Howie: I was wondering if you want to go see a movie tonight, since everyone else is busy? Amanda: Sure! Which movie and when? Howie: The 6th Sense at 7:00. Amanda: Ok, but I should warn you that I will be clawing at your arm, because I get scared easily, especially if there is blood and missing body parts. Howie: (smiling) Don�t worry about it, I�ve had that experience already, so this time I will be prepared. Amanda understood what he meant and smiled too. THAT NIGHT AT THE MOVIE In the theater during the movie when a sudden part came up, Amanda would jump in her seat, grab Howie�s arm and put her face on his shoulder with her eyes closed. Howie just looked at her and smiled. Howie: (whispering) I didn�t know witches could get so scared! Amanda: Well, you didn�t know any witches before, now did you? Howie: You�re right, I didn�t know any witches before you. After the movie, which Howie now had a red and bruised arm, they were talking about what they would do next. Amanda: So what should we do now? Howie: Do you want to take a walk and just talk? Amanda: That would be great. During their walk� Howie: So, how long have you been a witch? Amanda: I was born as a witch with the magic powers and stuff. Howie: Oh, so I bet you did nasty things to your teachers and bullies when you were younger. Amanda: Hahaha! You bet I did! I remember when I made the class map that was on the wall fall onto this really mean teacher of mine and Mandy�s. After he got it off, he started to search it to see what the matter was. It was so funny you should have been there! Both Howie and Amanda laughed. Howie could feel himself start to get a crush on Amanda. She looked so beautiful to him in the street light with her long, curly dirty blond hair blowing in the gentle breeze. He just had this feeling to kiss her, but he kept his distance. |
