Lolita is made up many different sub-categories and for each style they demand something slightly different but these are the general basics for the loli style~!

A blouse ~
In almost all the styles it's a must-have! Usually, its better to have a peter pan collared, button-up blouse in cream, white or black but if you're a dandy, aristocrat or kodona then a normal collar is okay too. Victorian collared blouses are much easier found in european countries but they a better with the classic and country loli styles~!

A petticoat/pannier ~
A petticoat usually makes any loli outfit perfect! A dome shaped, fluffy petticoat gives a loli dress or skirt the right poofy shape and is very easily made~! A great pattern to use is Simplicity 5006. (P.s ~ Don't use those rock'n'roll, 50s swing petticoats because they are COMPLETELY the wrong shape!!! DON'T USE THEM!!!)

A skirt ~
A skirt (or pants/shorts if you're a dandy or kodona) is an easy way to start off your loli wardrobe! It's very easy (and so much cheaper!) to make your own loli skirt according to what style you want it to look like. A skirt just needs to be able to have a petticoat underneath it to give it poof~! You'll be able to find a very simple pattern for a loli skirt on the sewing page very soon!

A headress or hat ~
A headress can come in many forms and can be a wonderful (and simple) finishing touch to your outfit! Dandys and kodonas don't necessarily have to wear a hat but a nice top hat &c always has a nice effect! You'll also be able to find a few simple patterns for a mini top-hat and some different headresses on the sewing page very soon!

All these basic loli items put together will make a very good loli outfit that worn stockings or socks and loli-like shoes will hopefully be more than street-worthy! These pieces can also be mixed and matched with other loli things as your wardrobe expands. Just a reminder though, lolita is a VERY expensive fashion to do and although making your own loli clothes can help bring that price down, it might take a little while to get a good collection of clothes. But if you start with these you are already half way there!
