| About Our Chapter The MOMS Club of Modesto - East chapter was founded in 2001. Since its beginning, membership has grown steadily, reflecting the community's growth from families moving to the Modesto area. The club currently has over 40 members. The club is a non-profit organization, however, members are asked to pay a small fee of $25 a year. If this is an imposition, special arrangements can be made. Member Statistics Our members range in age from their early twenties to mid-forties and over 50% of our members are first time moms. We have both single and married moms in the club and a number of women who work part-time. Members have a variety of educational and career backgrounds. We welcome diversity in the club and encourage all moms to join! Member Participation The Exective Board is nominated from among the membership and serves a one-year term. The board consists of the President, the Administrative Vice President, the Membership Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. The board provides leadership through budget management, fulfilling international MOMS Club requirements, coordinating fundraisers and service projects and facilitating monthly meetings. Members chair a variety of committees and clubs that provide and support club activities. Current committees include the Activities Committee, Sunshine Committee, Hospitality Committee, and the Communications Committee. Clubs, which reflect the special interests of members, are the Book Club, Cooking Club, Stroller Walk Club and the Preschool Club. Participation in a committee or club is a great way to meet new friends and to get involved! |
