Annual dues are only
$20 and cover the costs of administration, newsletter production,
mailings, space rental, supplies, etc. We know that being a
stay at home mom in today's world means making a financial
sacrifice so please see one of our officers if you have a
hardship. Financial matters will be kept confidential.
We are a non-profit
organization. Any money collected will be used exclusively for our
programs and projects. As a member, you are eligible to
participate in all club activities and to hold any club office or
be a part of any committee.
Benefits include:
Activities
Each month, members on
the events committees help plan and coordinate outings for moms
and their kids. Children's events include summertime picnic
lunches in the park, group trips to the MAC or Children's
museum, local library story times, and participation in
our playgroups usually held in homes.
In addition, one Mom's
Night Out event is held per month where moms go to such events as game
nights, miniature golf, movies, dinner and even bowling.
Information on monthly activities and meetings is printed in our
monthly newsletter.
Activity Groups
Any current member may
organize or participate in any activity group. They include
playgroups and the babysitting co-op.
Playgroups
Playgroups consist of
approximately 6 kids, formed on the basis of their ages. Members
take turns hosting their playgroups.
Babysitting
Co-op
Members provide each
other with safe, dependable and inexpensive babysitting services
on a ticket-per-hour-per-child system.
We can also give you
contact information for other fun activities not affiliated with
the MOMS Club, including Po-Keno, attending fairs and scrapbooking.
Helping Hands
We recognize that
there can come a time when moms need a little extra help. Helping Hands coordinates
temporary aid for members, including: meals, help with domestic
chores, emergency transportation, childcare or simply someone to
listen.
When a new baby
arrives or when a member just needs some support, members can
contact the current Helping Hands Coordinator. Matters
are always kept confidential.
Meetings
Business meetings are
scheduled for the last Monday of each month. The meeting starts
with discussions regarding club business. The latter part is
reserved for a speaker or for support group discussions. Child
care is available during the meeting. The Children's Room is staffed by members on a
rotating basis.
Service
Projects
As a non-profit
organization with service on our list of priorities, we will
"adopt" a local mother/child related non-profit
organization as our club's charity. Our goal will be to increase
community awareness of this charity while aiding the organization
through the support and participation of the Service Committee and
other members of the MOMS club.
