Area Parks

Listed below are some summertime "Kiddie Hot Spots" we've found, thanks to the help of fellow mommies.

Christian Temple Park

Located in Catonsville off Edmondson Ave, it's a little bit of a hike but worth the drive. The park is loaded with trees that provide lots of shade. There are several baby swings, regular swings and even a swing for the disabled. The park has a large jungle gym, hanging bars, slides, a small fort with a steering wheel and a large curved slide.

To get there, take Route 40 East Toward Catonsville. Turn right onto Rolling Road then left onto Edmondson Ave. Go past Winter Lane and 695. The park will be on your left hand side. It comes up rather suddenly so you want to slow down a bit when you pass 695. Watch for the White Church sign. If you go past the bend in the road you've gone too far.

Dorsey's Search Playground

. . . another hot summer find! It offers fun for kids of all ages with Baby swings, a toddler slide and a huge sand box for the little ones. Climbing equipmentwith a fort, steering wheel and slide for the toddlers. Big kid swings, monkey bars, a chained climbing wall and a large spinner for the older kids. Plus, plenty of park benches for moms! So bring your sunscreen and check it out! (Click on picture to zoom in!)
