Kougaiji is the son of Rasetunyo and Gumaoh...their only son. umaoh was sealed away in the Houtu Castle in India by Prince Nataku 500 years before the current story time. But Gyukumen Koushu, Lirin's Mother and a concubine of Gyumaoh, has decided to resurect Gyumaoh in hopes of becoming his Formal Wife. She has imprissoned Rasetsunyo in a big stone pillar, which forces Kougaiji to do what she wants...until she lets his mother go. Basically, Kougaiji is not a bad guy, but Lady Koushu leaves him no choice but to fight Sanzo and his group. He is loyal and he cares alot about his friends....especially for Lirin.
And I think that Yaone and Kougaiji should get married ^.~
