My name is Racquel Jacobs. In 2004 I gave birth to Micah Grace Jacobs, my first child, and became hooked on pregnancy and childbirth! Micah was born with the help of a doula. After our birth experience, I knew that I wanted to become a certified doula , and to help other women through labor and the postpartum adjustment.

In 2004 I became certified through a DONA approved birth doula certification program, and am currently in the process of pursuing my DONA certification. My goal as a doula is to help women achieve the birth they desire, and encourage practices which allow women to labor and deliver naturally. It is my desire to see families satisfied with their childbirth experience, to assist in creating an environment that allows for family bonding, and ultimately to see happy and healthy babies!

As a doula, I can help families create a relaxing environment for labor and birth by reducing outside distractions. I can also help with movement and positioning during labor, as well as relaxation. As a doula, I will be available for families to assist with any needs that may arise during labor, either anticipated or unanticipated.
