Now, if her injury was on the right side of her head you would think that if she fell she would also have bruises on her right side of her body. As I stated on the page before, we couldn't tell by the way she looked what was due to the autopsy and what was from the beating. Yes, Carol had been drinking that night too. And there were some other drugs in her system. I have had to keep an open mind to be fair about this and it has caused quite a dilemma in my mind and in the minds of our family. Caught between what our instinct tells us and what could we actually prove in a court trial. The funny thing is that she supposedly died at 4:30a.m and the squad wasnt called until almost 10:00 a.m. the next morning. Plus, the neighbors seen many automobiles they recognized all morning going up and down the road back and forth right after dawn, Way before the emergency vehichles started arriving. We do know that they did have guns and drugs in the home and when the sherriffs deputys arrived there weren't any to be found. Along with many calls coming from the home to various places from about 5:00 a.m. until he had called the emergency services.
There has been much specualtion about what could have been going on during that time lapse. We figure that they were taking the drugs and guns out of the house and taking them to a friends house. Also some of the other things came up missing....like the pillow Carol died on and the comforter on the bed. Bureau of Criminal Investigation came to the house and they found nothing incriminating. But according to the video tape there were things there on the tape that weren't there when B.C.I. was there. Robert had made some phone calls to an ex girlfriend at 6:30a.m. after Carol had died and before he called the police. According to her he called begging her to come and get him out of there. She was one of the potential witnesses that backed down and changed her story and wouldn't testify against him.
I just don't know what really happened to my sister and I would like to know....Did he actually hit her in the head or did she fall?? If he did hit her ........did she die instantly or did she die in her sleep? There were rumors even till this past summer going around town.
This was the biggest murder in our town for a long time.....but it involved the low-life's of the drug community. It involved drugs, alcohol, domestic violence. Since Carol had a history of drinking and taking drugs she wouldn't be looked upon in a very good manner. Another thing that just hit me.....at the time the F.B.I was doing survelliance on them according to Carol???? It makes you wonder about who had a hand in reducing the charges.
If you are in some kind of an abusive situation PLEASE TAKE HEED, Get out and if not.....keep a log of all things no matter how small and minor....like phone calls, letters, friends and relatives sending word from him.
And our hands would be tied.....we couldnt mention any of his alledged abuses of anykind......drugs, beatings or anything.....He had no convictions.......so it couldn't be mentioned in court. So....You can see why it is IMPERATIVE THAT YOU DOCUMENT ANY ABUSE AND FOLLOW THRU WITH THE CHARGES.....YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU MIGHT BE ANOTHER CAROL.
