The Spire |
||
| A self-contained environment for learning and education. The spire is the storehouse of knowledge and open to all who wish to enter. The upper levels of the building are the brain center of the Metro. Batteries from the Halo land and are placed in the power grid located near the top of the Spire. | ||
| Anyone is welcome in the Spire. No class distinction
nor preference is acknowledged by those who reside within its walls. The only
hierarchy inside is that of Instructor and Pupil. Every new student is given a
Mentor and Neo-instructor. These people will change over the student's career
depending on the student's interests and placement. In their second year every Student is assigned a newcomer (often more than one) and given the title Neo-Instructor. They are to teach the basics of Spire and assist in the adjustment to their new life. This process is repeated until the Neo-Instructor's Mentor is pleased with their ability to lead. Next, The student is guided into a True Instructor's role. They are taught the basics of instructions and given a limited teaching capacity. Initially, they are responsible for the education requirements of a single class . As they grow in ability and knowledge they are given more challenging and advanced courses. Instructors are often encouraged to find alternative methods to instruct their classes. The basic lecture is not always the best way. |

| Once a person enters the Spire and vows to pursue knowledge

and fugitives. The rules of the Spire are quite strict, though. Repeat
offenses and blatant hostility are often rewarded with permanent expulsion. Life inside is not easy or forgiving. A detailed record is kept until graduation of each students activities. Any infraction on the laws of the Spire are met with immediate and severe punishment. Progress toward complete knowledge of the student's Topic Area is mandatory. Relaxation and play have their time and place within the Spire. A student's day is mostly composed of learning, teaching, and researching. After graduation, many students discover they want to stay in the Spire and teach others. Some switch major areas and begin again. Still others find high placed positions in the world outside.
