98 Rock's Livestock, Pioneered by The MojoSeafish.
Yes, it's true. Through the late eighties and early nineties, members of The Mojo Seafish made up in part the Tampa all-original rock act Blind Sight. At the time, Blind Sight was one of the few Tampa area bands that refused to do cover material, and paid for it for years as clubs of the day hardly welcomed such abstinence with open arms. Back then, bands were forced to either play cover material or promote their own shows at alternative venues. Blind Sight and its management became very good at self promoted shows and were developing quite a following.

It just so happened that a member of the Blind Sight management team had close business dealings with a gentleman who had owned about half of the property commonly known as Festival Park in Zephyrhills Florida. The band and management developed the concept for an outdoor rock show featuring a day and evening of top local rock bands of the day. The idea was presented to the afore mentioned landowner and when approved, was taken to the powers that be at 98 Rock in Tampa. The folks at 98 Rock turned down the proposal and left Blind Sight to once again, seek a self-promoted satisfaction. An alternate venue was chosen as the band felt the Festival Park property would be difficult to familiarize people with absent the help of radio promotion.

The local ABATE chapter provided Blind Sight with the Saturday use of a piece of property (just off of U.S. 301) in exchange for their appearing the following Sunday for the members of ABATE. The show was a huge success and proved clearly that rock fans in the area would support this kind of a show. It was only 2 months later that 98 Rock announced the first Livestock to be held at you guessed it, Festival Park on U.S. 301 in Zephyrhills.

The members and management of Blind Sight were given V.I.P. back stage passes to the event as Blind Sight drummer, Joe Dixon had suffered a broken neck and the band was not able to perform.
