MOGSouth, the Morgan Owners Group South is a group of Morgan owners mainly from the Southeastern United States and East Coast.  The organization came into being over 25 years ago in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and celebrated the 25th anniversary at a meet in Charleston, South Carolina.
We are a very loose organization without a formal management structure.  This is to say that volunteers are responsible for making everything happen.  The group hosts two annual meets in the Spring and the Fall, as well as an annual Christmas party.  All meets and parties are hosted by a volunteer member of the group.  Past meets and parties have been held at (or near) member's houses as well as several bed and breakfast establishments.  The attending members help defray the cost of the meets and parties by making a small contribution to the "kitty".
Our group is not as ambitious as some other Morgan Clubs in the US in that we do not host major event like MCCDC's annual Morgan Owners Gatherings.  However, many of us happliy attend these major events and often caravan to the events together.  Many of us also enjoy vintage racing.  Several of our members campaign their vintage racecars, which we enthusiastically support.
Unique to MOGSouth is the annual awarding of the "Mother Courage Award".  Early in 1998, Rick Rader, MOGSouth member from Chattanooga suggest that MOGSouth establish a perpetual award to honor the memory and spirit of the long time MOGSouth members Nancilee and Dan Kelly, to be called the Mother Courage Award.  Mother Courage is the name Nancilee gave to her blue Drop Head Coupe.  A committee was drafted at the 1998 Spring Meet to decide the criteria for the award and that committee decided that the award is to be given to the person or persons who best personify Dan and Nancilee's love for people, Morgans and life.  The recipient of the Mother Courage Award is so honored at the annual MOGSouth Christmas Party.
     We also publish a newsletter,
Southern Fours and Eights.  This newsletter usually comes out four times per year.  We would welcome your membership and participation in our group.  We say that it is the cars that brought us together but the people and friendships that keep us together.  Please join us.  You do not have to be a Morgan owner to be a member, just have the same enthusiasm that all Morgan owners enjoy.
