N.O.T. Pointless Ltd. PAGE 2
Een klein LGB tentoonstellingsbaantje - om zinloos mee te rangeren - in aanbouw...
A small LGB-exhibition layout -for pointles shunting- under construction.....

The construction in progress...
Pointless will be an oval, with a screen in the middle to make it two small areas. One side will be based on ' North Wales '.  Shunting can take place on both sides. Track will be covered to hide the size of it.   Pictures on this page depict the situation from september 2001 onwards, with layout under construction....
The first tracks are in place on the now finished folding baseboards.
The first plan - tracks are laid out to see what can be done. On the right a little test-piece to see what I can do about the ugly track...
Final situation: standard gauge track crosses narrow gauge track. Landscaping starts with a small testing area.
The first building (using clay, cardboard and plastics)
Fitting buildings for size and position.
On this side they are: engineshed, office, workshop and shed.
Testing the effect of slate-waste and ballast of the SG-track. For me, this is where the fun begins...
Construction of the landscape: foam is sprayed on and later it is cut away. A lot of work, but extremely light in weight. Afterwards it is covered with a thin layer of DAS-clay, thinned with paint, PVA-glue and water. The points are done with little strips of foam.
It looks better after a lot of the foam has been cut away with a sharp knife. Still - a lot of work remains to be done...
Below: one has to be careful with the points, so ballast is imitated with small strips of foam. I am still looking for nicer pointlevers!
Just out of interest: the frame to support the layout - made of waste alluminium exhibitionframes (from work...) Very light but still strong.
November 2001: testing outside
