History and Description of the Breed A re-creation of the 18th century Bulldogge, the Olde English Bulldogge (a.k.a OEB), is very alert, friendly, courageous and highly protective of and loyal to it's owner and property. We breed the Hermes line of OEB's which are considered to be very broad-chested, powerful, athletic-looking and heavily muscled. Males weigh a minumum of 70 pounds; females, 60 pounds. Its wrinkled, large head and short, broad muzzle are not as extreme as the regular Bulldog, but this breed does have the characteristic bully "tusks" of large, protruding bottom teeth set in an undershot, muscular jaw with hanging outer lips and jowls. The Olde English Bulldogge comes in fawn, red, white or black - all may have brindling or white markings. General Description : The perfect Olde English Bulldogge should be of medium height to large size with a large head and a very stout, muscular body. The disposition should be outgoing, loyal and courageous. The temperament is to be very stable and trustworthy. Most importantly the Olde English Bulldogge is a healthy dog with out many of the problems affecting the modern English Bulldogs. Males should be free breeders and females should be free whelpers. The Olde English Bulldogge should be devoid of all breathing problems.

Benefits of the Olde English Bulldogge The CKC Olde English Bulldogges of today were started in the seventies to fix all the health problems with the AKC Bulldog, especially to whelp naturally. Needless to say, BabyFace Kennel pups are Olde English bulldogges. These bulls still remain like the show bulls in appearances but are much bigger with none of the health problems. They are far more tolerant to heat as well, although all dogs should be kept cool. Our bulldogges are all registered with the CKC and, in my opinion, are not alternatives to the more familiar and expensive AKC dogs. Rather, they are far superior and less expensive in the purchase and care.
