Pleasant Mountain Chapter (MOAL)
May 12, 2009 Meeting Minutes
Bill opened the May 12th Pot Luck supper meeting at the Bridgton Community
Center. The following members attended: Phil and Nancy Carlton, Lea
Wernau, Dale McDaniel, Dave and Eileen Croteau, Dick and Claire Berube, Ed
Crowell, Uncle David, Lou Dapas, George and Marcella Gattozzi, Bill and Audrey
Haworth, Bill and Linda Kelley, Dave and Pat Riley, Richard and Nancy King,
Al Robblee, Rhonda Robblee, Brad Plante, Carolyn Huntley, Barry and
Elaine Vaill.
Bill thanked everyone for all the support he's received over the past year
and mentioned in July, George Gattozzi, will assume the president's position
and his first lady will become secretary/treasurer. Dick Berube made
a motion to nominated Dave Croteau for vice-president. The vote was
unanimously approved.
The secretary's report was read and accepted.
The treasurer's report stated as of May 12 the balance was $6,298.42.
Bill gave a brief Car Show update. Flyers were mailed to last years
participants (excluding club members); flyers were distributed at Wells show;
Drew plans to distribute flyers at Bonney Eagle show; additional signs are
needed and a list has been give to Howie to forward to vendor; George is making
the additional sign stands at his house. Car committee is soliciting
raffle items and some other members have made donations or also seeking raffle
items. Please do not solicit merchants who are sponsoring award classes.
Scholarship applications were reviewed by the car show committee and the
two recipients were chosen.
Club logo hats and golf shirts were ordered.
Beef and Ski cruise nights begin May 20th. Peter has bought the building
and said once he closes on the building he plans to have an ad/article in
the Bridgton News mentioning the weekly cruise-ins.
Along with scheduling a trip to Tim's Garage additional cruise-ins mentioned
for the club to participate as a group included: Blast from the Past
some Friday, Scarborough on a Tuesday, Front Street, Bath on July
5th, Old Orchard on September 12 and 13. Dave and Pat Riley mentioned
the cruise-ins on Tuesday's in Cumberland and Gardner on Thursdays.
Before the end of June a schedule of 5 or 6 club activities will be
sent out.
There was a reminder regarding the Harrison Lions Club's Car Show on June
28 at Crystal Lake Park.
Twelve club members plan to go on the overnight trip to Hemmings Museum
and Cruise-in in Bennington, VT. If anyone else is interested please
let Bill know asap.
A sign up sheet to work at the car show was passed around. Thanks
everyone for your great response.
New Business
Eric Heath was introduced. He came as a guest of Dale's to let us
know about a restaurant he's opening with a business partner in Naples once
major renovations are completed. It's called Bare Bones Barbecue on
Route 302. The building was previously the North Shore Tavern.
He hopes to open June 20th. Club members who show their membership card
will receive a 10% discount.
October meeting TBD. Hopefully it will be our traditional turkey dinner
at the Grange Hall in Harrison.

April 15, 2009 Meeting Minutes
Bill opened the meeting by asking members to introduce themselves and mention
the type of vehicle they have. The following members attended: Ed
& Muffett Crowell & guest Uncle David, Dave & Pat Riley,
Larry Collins, Janice Fernekees, George & Marcella Gattozzi, Bill &
Linda Kelley, Lou Dapas, Brad Plante & guest Carolyn, Dick & Claire
Berube, Dave & Eileen Croteau, Don Tubbs, Audrey Haworth, Frank &
Marsha Nudd, Peter & Sue Anderson, Bruce & Ruth Baker, Phil
Nancy Carlton, Al Robblee, Rhonda Robblee, Phil & Peggy Douglass, Dale
McDaniel & Lea Wernau, Ernie Johnson and Howie Johnson.
Secretary’s report was read and accepted.
Treasurer’s report stated as of April 8 the account balance was $5,767.93.
The deposits since the January 27 meeting came from the merchants/individuals
sponsoring a class of awards for our June 7 Car Show. Report accepted.
Bill mentioned some of the Car Show committee members met in February and
that George, Don, Muffett, Al and himself had taken care of getting the
following sponsors:

Machine to sponsor a class.
Award/ribbons were ordered, most of the sponsor money received and inventory
completed. With the addition of classes, more signs need to be ordered.
A cover letter/car show flyer will be mailed to last years participants
(excluding current club members) the week of April 20. Janice Fernekees
and Claire Berube offered to help Linda with mailing.
The next Car Show committee meeting will be held within a few weeks.
Bill reminded everyone about the overnight cruise to Hemmings which was
discussed at the last meeting. Date: 6/25. Lodging at the
Hampton Inn. Below is their website and a link to attractions for those

New Business
Received a call from Gary Allen that Dan MacDonald had contacted him.
He inquired if someone from the club with a vehicle in the 30’s would be
willing to drive a couple (from CT) who are being married at the Noble
House B and B in May to their reception site (Bridgton Golf Course).
Drew Betz graciously offered to accommodate the couple. Thank you Drew
and Dottie.
The club received a letter from Mike Lowell about Wells “First of the Season”
Car Show on May 2 at the Messiah Christian Church 2700 Post Rd, Route 1,
Wells 9am to 3pm. He mentioned some of his club came to our show last
year and asked if we would spread the word and go to their show. Mike’s number
is 283-3056. Their flyer states Proceeds to benefit Veritas Academy.
Hopefully some Pleasant Mountain Chapter members will attend. The

Pat and Dave Riley forwarded us information regarding Duck’s Spring Icebreaker
the Maine/New Hampshire National Street Rod Association Day, May 10,
7am to noon. Acton Fairgrounds, Route 109, Acton, ME. There will be
a swap meet and car corral as well. And, for all ages there will be Hot
Wheels drag racing hosted by Smitty of Red One Racing. Bring your

John’s cover letter mentioned they were seeking donations to help defray
costs and several local car clubs had made donations. Ed Crowell made
a motion for the club to send them a $50 donation. Motion was approved.
Brad Plante advised members that The Harrison Days committee wants to have
a Cruise Night on Thursday, July 9. He also mentioned the Harrison
Lions Club plans to have a Car Show on June 28. When we have more
details, information will be forwarded to club members.
The Sons of the American Legion Post 155, Naples asked us to communicate
their Car Show which will be held on May 24 from 10am to 2pm. Rain

Interest has been expressed to order logo hats and golf shirts. A
sample logo was passed around and the vendor, Maine Street Graphics, said
the cost would be approx. $14 to $15 per hat.
Our ad in Motor Mendors and CruiseMaine will state Cruise Nights at Beef
and Ski begin Wednesday, May 27. However, it’s been suggested we have
a club cruise night the week before, May 20. Mark your calendars for
the 20th.

1/27/2009 Meeting Minutes
Bill opened the meeting and thanked everyone for coming. The following
members attended: Bruce & Ruth Baker, Larry Collins, Janice Fernekees,
Dave & Eileen Croteau, Ed & Muffett Crowell, George & Marcella
Gattozzi, Bill & Audrey Haworth, Bill & Linda Kelley, Richard &
Nancy King, Sam & Linda Knight, Jim Knox, Al Robblee, Rhonda Robblee,
Dwight Smith, June Vendrillo, Don Tubbs, Barry & Elaine Vail.
Linda read the secretary’s report. A motion was made to accept the
minutes as read. George Gattozzi made a correction that 83 vehicles
participated in the Fryeburg Fair parade; however, the club received reimbursement
for 82 vehicles.
Linda gave the treasurer’s report. It was noted there had been a
few checks issued since the last meeting. A $75 check for the ad in
Motor Menders and $500 to Brandon Palmer. Account balance as of 1/27/09
$5,176.06. Linda also read a letter from Brandon. He advised
the club he had a successful first semester and this semester his courses
include Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Repair. Brandon enclosed a
copy of his transcript and he has a GPA of 3.35. A motion was made
to accept the treasurer’s report.
New Business
CruiseMaine magazine was contacted and ads for listing our Cruise nights
and Car Show were submitted. There is no charge for these ads.
Car show committee members will meet at the Kelley’s house in February.
After our November meeting Al Robblee advised us his boss would sponsor Camaros.
Beginning mid-March the committee will start to solicit businesses to sponsor
the classes.
Bill announced he is looking into an overnight trip to Bennington,
VT because several members suggested the idea and felt it would be a fun
club event. Hemmings Motor News has cruise-ins every other Thursday
in June, July and August. We can arrange for a tour of Hemmings
facility early afternoon on June 25 and attend their cruise-in that evening.
Bill called the Hampton Inn which is 3 miles from Hemmings. If we book 10
or more rooms the rate is $129.00 vs 149.00 and it includes a hot continental
breakfast. They have a pool, health club, etc. Interested
members should let Linda know by April 15 so we can reserve a block of rooms.
Peter (Beef and Ski) called to let the club know that Jim Moore is trying
to sell the building. Peter asked Bill to let members know in case
anyone is looking for an investment property. Peter said in addition
to his rent, there are 2 apartment rentals on the second floor.
The next meeting will be mid-April.
