WHAT KEEPS ME GOING?
"Nothing without faith!"
Psalm 27:1-5
"The Lord is my light and my salvation
whom shall i fear?
The Lord is the rampart of my life;
I will not be afraid.
When the wicked rush at me to devour my flesh,
it is my foes who stumble, my enemies fall.
Though an army encampagainst me, I will still be confident.
One thing I ask of the Lord, one thing I seek-
that I may dwell in his house
all the days of my life;
to gaze at his jewel
and to visit his sanctuary.
For he will keep me safe in his shelter
in times of misfortune.
He will hide me beneath his roof
and set me high upon a rock."

First Things First How to Manage Your Time
I suppose youve heard the phrase time is gold a lot of times. But I say that time per se is not the golden thing. You are the golden one. You are precious. You do a lot of things. You are a busy person with a lot of responsibilities to your family, studies, organizations, etc. You want to do a lot of things, right? But on top of these, you have a responsibility to yourself to keep a balance between these responsibilities and the things that youve always wanted to do. What keeps us from doing so? Is it time? Do you always find yourself cram and stay awake the whole night for an exam? Or submit late papers and come to class unprepared? Or miss opportunities to spend time with your family and friends? I admit I do. But I think following the time management below could help you (and me) avoid such situations and live a more fruitful and enjoyable life. Check it out.
1. Set your goals in life. Identify the mission and vision you want to pursue. Listing them down helps you identify them better.
2. List down the roles you presently have in the different aspects of your life (ex: as a student, friend, daughter, organization officer, etc)
3. Write down specific activities that would satisfy the following human needs captured by the phrase to live, to love, to learn, to leave a legacy (Covey et.al ,1994):
---physical need (such as food, shelter, clothing, economic well-being, health)
---social need (need to relate with other people to belong, to love, to be loved)
---mental need (need to develop and grow)
---spiritual need (need to have a sense of meaning, purpose, personal congruence, and contribution)
4. Think of the important and urgent things you have to do. Assign them to different quadrants as prescribed in the time management matrix (Covey et. al, 1994:37).
5.Analyze your matrix. The principle here is not to focus on the urgent but on the important unless it is both urgent and important. Aim to have most of your activities under Quadrant II because this is where youll increase and improve your skills.
