The MN Chinese Service Center's history:
After many years of informally providing assistance to newly arrived Chinese and elderly Chinese, Wendy Mui saw the need to create the Minnesota Chinese Service Center. She took the lead in creating the first board of directors, getting the organization incorporated and obtaining 501(c)(3) status. Since its formation more than three years ago, the Minnesota Chinese Service Center has provided limited services with volunteers and donated space. It is located at 962 University Ave. in St. Paul.

In October 2002, MCSC began the "Adopt-A-Grandparent" program. The program aimed at bringing Chinese elders together with families with adopted Chinese children. By bringing the two together, we hoped to have a cultural exchange.

In February 2003, MCSC will be starting ESL classes to help teach necessary English skills to those who lack basic English skills or wish to improve their English.
