MASKS/RARE ITEMS

One of the major parts of The Legend of Zelda: Major'as Mask were the abundance of masks. In this RPG, many of the masks will appear. However, masks cannot simply be found by someone. In the races sections, there are certain masks listed under each race's description. These masks were either created or last seen in these territories, and most likely (though not always) are still somewhere there. Any mask can be worn by any of the races. This section will also deal with rare items, such as the Great Fairy's Sword and Moon's Tears.

Finding a mask or rare item is difficult. I originally decided that players could determine finding them themselves, but after people took advantage of this, I decided it would be best if it was regulated. Therefore, the only times masks can be found are if I decide to make it part of a story. These stories are usually lengthy and dangerous, making masks quite valuable. However, if the other Overseers vote to allow a mask or rare item to be found, it may be. Rare items are found the same way, but for more common special items, such as Moon's Tears or Rare Gems, one Overseer's OK is enough to find the item.

This section will list the current masks available. More masks, whether they be from Majora's Mask or not, may surface in the future. The rare items are as follows (special items deemed "common" are those that require only one Overseer's consent to be found, though they are not common): Great Fairy's Sword (Rare), Hero's Bow (Rare), Moon's Tear (Common), Rare Gem (Common).

One final Rare Item is the Boss Key. This key unlocks the door to the boss room in one of the four temples, where the boss found in Majora's Mask dwells. When the door is opened, this powerful creature goes around Termina destructing things. The Boss Key is given to the leader of each of the races that control the temple (Deku, Goron, Zora, Ikana). Note that unleashing a boss is only a last resort, and can only be done if the opposing race on the Wheel of the Races is about to take power. Since the temples are in the territory of the keyholders, the first thing the boss will likely destroy is the settlement there.

POSTMAN'S HAT: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is not a special mask (or more accurately, a hat), but one worn by all of the postmen for different races. The original hat, said to be worn by a legendary figure known as the "Running Man", has unknown powers. This legendary hat is said to reside in Terminian territory.

ALL-NIGHT MASK: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A firghtful and fearful mask, the All-Night Mask allows its wearer to go without sleep for as long as he wears it. This is particularly useful for guards staying up to watch for attacks, and even moreso for Gorons resisting the dreaded Goron Lullaby. It is said to be in Terminian territory.

BREMEN MASK: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Like the Postman's Hat, this mask is not just one, but many. The Bremen demi-race wears these whenever showing themselves in front of those not of their kind. This is done both to hide their identities and to create fear. The original Bremen Mask was supposedly destroyed in a fire, and its special powers were said to enhance the musical abilities of the player, even allowing them to play while walking, running, or riding a horse. It was last seen in Terminian territory.

BUNNY HOOD: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Bunny Hood is an incredible mask, automatically raising the wearer's running skill to Level 4, 1 level above the normal maximum. The person who wears this is faster than anyone else in the land, and nearly as fast as a person riding on horseback. It is said to be found in Terminian territory.

STONE MASK: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Easily one of the most powerful masks, the Stone Mask renders the wearer invisible. Note, however, that weapons cannot be used while this mask is on and that the wearer still must overcome such obstacles as walls and cliffs. Still, being invisible has incredible use, and this mask is highly prized. It was last seen in Ikana territory.

CAPTAIN'S MASK: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A very useful mask for the Ikana, the skull mask allows the wearer to control 5 Stalchildren at once, which is a small personal army for the user. This mask, important to the Ikana, is supposedly still in Ikana territory. If a non-Ikanan wears it, they will transform into a Stalchild, with the same abilities as a normal one.

GARO'S MASK: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yet another mask that will help the Ikana, the Garo's Mask allows the wearer to control 2 Garo at once, which is very helpful. Though created by the Ikana, it is somehow supposedly in the Terminian territory. If a non-Ikanan wears it, they will transform into a Garo, with the same abilities as a normal one.

GIBDO'S MASK: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This mask can be used to speak to the Gibdo who inhabit the well in Ikana village. The Gibdo are normally hostile, but if special items are given to them (and the Head Overseers/Other Overseers agree), they may help out the Ikana. This mask is said to be in Ikana territory.

MASK OF SCENTS: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Mask of Scents was originally intended to sniff out Magic Mushrooms, and does a good job still (using it allows the wearer to be so efficient that they find a two weeks supply of magic mushrooms instead of the normal one week). But the more useful use of this mask is to smell enemies. Any person of another race (that is not an undead warrior) can be smelled and identified (their race, not their name of course) if they are within about a 50 foot radius of the wearer. This makes sneak attacks on groups near the wearer useless. It is said to be found in Deku territory.

DON GERO'S MASK: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don Gero, the legendary frog composer, tragically died and this mask was crafted from his remains. The mask allows the wearer to look much like Don Gero (with another races body), and will convince a troupe of frogs to follow. This group is quite talented and very popular, but only one with this mask can conduct it. It is said to be in Goron territory.

KEATON MASK: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The mystical demi-race known as the Keatons is quite wary of their foes, and will not allow them to visit their underground lair without this mask. Other than that, this mask serves little purpose. It is said to be found in Terminian territory.

KAMARO'S MASK: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The enigmatic dancer, Kamaro, passed away long ago, but his dancing spirit lives on in this mask. Said to be a thrown-out Gerudo king (though not confirmed), he lived in Ikana territory for many years, teaching the kingdom how to dance (thus the dancing re-deads). His death is unknown, but the mask is said to have been last seen in Termina Field, so it is any race's game. It will give the wearer a Level 4 dancing ability, which will charm most any person.

GREAT FAIRY'S MASK: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The mask created in the image of the Great Fairy, this mask will attract fairies in the middle of Combat or Battle. After the character is killed or the first fairy is used, a fairy will come. Only one extra fairy can come per Battle/Combat to aide the wearer of the mask. Said to reside in Gerudo territory.

SUN MASK: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This extroardinary mask will grant the power of doubled magic to the user. If they have a normal magic meter, they have 40 points, and an extended meter will now have 60. This increased magic is very helpful to those that commonly use Elemental Bows or Special Moves. Said to reside in Ikanan territory. Created by Kafei Dotour.

MOON MASK: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The mask in direct relation to the Sun Mask, it allows the wearer to learn how to use one weapon of another race. Skill points are still required to learn this ability. Created by Anju the Innkeeper. Said to reside in Zoran territory.

COUPLE'S MASK: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When joined together, the Sun Mask and Moon Mask retain their powers, but they can both be used at once. If this wasn't enough, the Couple's Mask charms the people who view it, and if an even number is rolled (on a die), then they are willing to help out the wearer (they will not risk their life or do extroardinarily difficult tasks, though). Because of all these great powers combined, this is easily the most powerful of all the masks.
