ARMOR
Armor is a staple of any character who will be engaging in frequent battles. Armor does not require any skill points to learn how to use it. Only an armorer/helmet crafter can only make the armor/helmets/combo armor used by his race.
The main reason for wearing armor is to decrease the chance of a fatal blow when a successful hit is made in Combat or to protect the wearer from certain hits in Battle. Armor deemed "heavy" will cause you to take 1 extra turn to reach the destination during Battle.
New to Version 3.0 of the RPG are helmets. Helmets cover the head, and sometimes will do something else as well. Helmets will either protect the wearer from arrows or explosions (bombs or powder kegs), but of course, only to the head area. Read the individual descriptions to learn more about the protection helmets provide. Helmets can be made by helmet crafters.
Your character can ONLY wear one piece of protection from one of the sections below (either armor, helmet, or combo... not multiples).
ARMOR
| TERMINIAN | Races: Terminian, Ikana | Weight: Light | ||
| ARMOR: | Number: 2 per day | Min. Armorer Level: 1 | ||
| Materials: None | Const. Cost: 5 rupees |
The basic armor for Terminians and Ikana. While it offers minimal protection, it is light as well as cheap and easy to make. It covers only the chest and stomach, much like a vest. If a chest/stomach hit is made in Battle, it will have no effect. It has no advantages in Combat.
| TERMINIAN | Races: Terminian | Weight: Heavy | ||
| FULL MAIL: | Number: 1 per day | Min. Armorer Level: 3 | ||
| Materials: Field Metals | Const. Cost: 20 rupees |
This armor not only covers the chest and stomach, but also the arms. It is incredibly expensive to make, however, and it also requires a more skilled worker than those that make Terminian Armor. The best armor for Terminians and Ikana, though it is quite cumbersome. The metal for the mail can be found in Termina Field.
| LEG GUARDS: | Races: Terminian, Ikana, Gerudo, Zora | Weight: Heavy | ||
| Number: 2 per day | Min. Armorer Level: 2 | |||
| Materials: None | Const. Cost: 12 rupees |
Leg Guards are actually quite flexible, but still is awkward enough to cause an extra turn needed to reach a location in Battle. However, they protect the legs from any projectiles, making them very handy. They do not cost as much nor required quite as skilled an Armorer as the Terminian Full Mail. Zoras can also use these, though they do dramatically deter their swimming abilities.
| TERMINIAN | Races: Terminian, Ikana, Gerudo | Weight: Heavy | ||
| PLATE MAIL: | Number: 1 per day | Min. Armorer Level: 3 | ||
| Materials: None | Const. Cost: 15 rupees |
The Terminian Plate Mail, made out of plates, is the ideal armor for Combat. If a 1 or 2 is rolled for a successful hit, then it does not have any effect. However, if another fatal blow is made after, it is always successful.
| GHOST MAIL: | Races: Ikana, Gerudo | Weight: Heavy | ||
| Number: 1 per day | Min. Armorer Level: 3 | |||
| Materials: Spirit of Poe, Field Metals | Const. Cost: 18 rupees |
This is a very powerful piece of armor, as it aides the user in both Battle and Combat. It uses the same materials as the Terminian Full Mail, but also requires the spirit of a Poe (normal Poe can be found in Ikana Graveyard at night). In Battle, this mail protects your stomach and chest, while in Combat it negates a 1 and 2 rolled when there is a successful hit (though if another is rolled, it will be a fatal blow).
| ARMOR OF | Races: N/A (Undead Only) | Weight: Light | ||
| THE UNDEAD: | Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Armorer Level: 2 | ||
| Materials: Spirit of Poe, Field Metals | Const. Cost: 12 rupees |
Made out of similar materials that the Ghost Mail is, the Armor of the Undead is used to protect the Undead characters in Combat. If a 1 or 2 is rolled, the first time it is negated. This armor fits lightly even on the undead characters.
| CORAL ARMOR: | Races: Zora | Weight: Light | ||
| Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Armorer Level: 3 | |||
| Materials: Great Bay Coral | Const. Cost: 12 rupees |
This is the specialty armor of the Zora, and is ideal for Combat situations. If a 1-3 is rolled for a successful hit, it is negated the first time. The key component to this armor is the Great Bay Coral, which is plentiful among the seafloor of the Great Bay. This garment somewhat slows swimming, but not drastically (the Zora's swimming level will drop to 3 while the armor is on).
| SEA COAST | Races: Zora | Weight: Heavy | ||
| ARMOR: | Number: 1 per 3 days | Min. Armorer Level: 3 | ||
| Materials: Great Bay Water | Const. Cost: 18 rupees |
This armor is very helpful to the Zora, and its blue shimmer comes from the Great Bay Water that goes into its making. Its purpose is unique in that it does not aide the wearer in the same way that other armor does. Instead, the Sea Coast Armor protects the Zora from Fire and Ice Arrows. The flames are put out by the water, and the ice is absorbed into the armor. However, after the armor is hit by Ice Arrows the first time, it is frozen and loses all of its effects until there is ample time to melt the ice. This armor in incredibly helpful for Zoran warriors facing those that use the deadly fire and ice arrows against them.
| ZORAN CAMOFLAGUE | Races: Zora | Weight: Light | ||
| ARMOR: | Number: 1 per 5 days | Min. Armorer Level: 4 | ||
| Mtrls: Minrls., Flame of Blue/Red Bubbles | C. Cost: 25 rupees |
The Zoran Camoflague Armor is incredibly helpful to the Zora, and can only be constructed by the finest armorer in all of Termina. It takes 5 long days and Great Bay Minerals (found underwater in the Great Bay), the Flame of a Red Fire Bubble (Snowhead Temple), and the Flame of the Blue Fire Bubble (Termina Field). When all of these are combined, the powerful Zoran Camoflague Armor is created. The purpose of this armor is that when swimming towards a wall, Zoras can only be seen every other turn. If the number of turns it takes to get to a wall is odd, it is rounded down. This armor was created by MMRPG player Astral Regulus.
| DEKU ARMOR: | Races: Deku | Weight: Light | ||
| Number: 2 per day | Min. Armorer Level: 1 | |||
| Materials: None | Const. Cost: 4 rupees |
The standard armor for Deku going into Battle. It protects the wearer from Chest and Stomach hits. It is easy to make, and just a tad less expensive than the Terminian Armor.
| SWAMP MAIL: | Races: Deku | Weight: Light | ||
| Number: 1 per day | Min. Armorer Level: 2 | |||
| Materials: None | Const. Cost: 10 rupees |
This well-designed mail is very light, allowing for no decrease in speed during Battle. However, its real purpose is to aid in Combat. If a 1 is rolled for a successful hit roll, it is negated (if rolled again, it is not). It is also not very expensive to make.
| FLAME MAIL: | Races: Deku | Weight: Light | ||
| Number: 1 per 3 days | Min. Armorer Level: 3 | |||
| Materials: Flame of Fire Bubble | Const. Cost: 15 rupees |
The Flame Mail is similar to the Sea Coast Armor in its function. This armor is constructed ater catching flame from a dying Fire Bubble (fire bubbles can be found in the Snowhead Temple, though a blue variation is in Termina Field) in a bottle. The color of the flame determines the color of the armor. In any case, the mail will protect its Deku wearer from any and all attacks by a Fire Arrow.
| WOODEN ARM GUARDS: | Races: Deku | Weight: Light | ||
| Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Armorer Level: 2 | |||
| Materials: Swamp Wood | Const. Cost: 6 rupees |
The Deku have created arm guards that will only fit their race. The wood these guards are made from absorbs themselves ever so slightly into the skin of the Deku, allowing for incredible flexibilty of the arms even when these are on (and it's still easy to take off). During Battle, this will protect the arms of the Deku. Like the other Deku armor, it is very light.
| GORON ARMOR: | Races: Goron | Weight: Heavy | ||
| Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Armorer Level: 1 | |||
| Materials: Mountain Rocks | Const. Cost: 15 rupees |
The Goron Armor is a very large armor, somewhat perculiar from its design. It is designed to protect the Goron's chest and stomach along with their non-dominant arm (if none is specified by the character, than this is the left hand). This protects the arm while allowing the other to function to its fullest. To make it, rocks found near Darmani's Grave are needed.
| ICE MAIL: | Races: Goron | Weight: Heavy | ||
| Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Armorer Level: 3 | |||
| Materials: Snowhead Ice | Const. Cost: 20 rupees |
Though not made from ice, ice from Snowhead is somehow implemented into the mail. This ice can be found deep inside the Snowhead Temple (requires Overseer approval to retrieve). Anyway, this armor is very useful in Combat. While it prevents 1 or 2's rolled for a successful hit roll, that's not the best part. The good thing is that if they are rolled a second time for a Fatal Blow, it still does not have an effect. The third 1 or 2 rolled however, will be a fatal blow. This armor is very heavy, however, so the Goron wearing it cannot perform a Goron Roll.
| EXPLOSION ARMOR: | Races: Goron | Weight: Heavy | ||
| Number: 1 per 3 days | Min. Armorer Level: 2 | |||
| Materials: Bombchu Head | Const. Cost: 15 rupees |
This armor is very unique, and like only a few other pieces of armor, does not protect the Goron from the normal things. Instead, the Explosion Armor protects the Goron from all normal bomb and bombchu explosions. Any explosion from these will not have any effect on the Goron.
| ARMOR OF HOPE: | Races: All | Weight: Light | ||
| Number: 1 per 7 days | Min. Armorer Level: 4 | |||
| Materials: Hope's Medallion | Const. Cost: 50 rupees |
The Armor of Hope is the strongest and most helpful armor in the game, and even with all its powers can be constructed in numbers. However, as you can see above, there are many strict penalties. Not only is it incredibly expensive and time consuming to create, only the best armorer in Termina (the one at Level 4) can make such powerful armor. The most troublesom element of making the armor, however, is getting Hope's Medallion. Hope is a spirit that dwells deep within the earth, and is only seen by the Keatons. If a person commits an incredible deed or courage, bravery, and helpfullness towards the Keatons, Hope will reward them with this medal. As for the Armor of Hope, it can be worn by all races and has helpful effects in both Combat and Battle. In Combat, if a 1-6 is rolled, it is negated for the first time. In Battle, the Armor of Hope creates a shield around the wearer that protects all parts of the wearer's body. After the wearer is hit once, however, the shield is broken and the armor only protects the chest/stomach and arms. Needless to say, this armor is incredibly helpful. Any race can use it, as it can be custom made by the Level 4 armorer. It has a yellow glow to it that tells others of its magnificence.
HELMETS
Helmets are worn around the head, and are solely used to protect the head in Battle. Each helmet can take a certain number of shots, then it must be repaired if it is to function. After the specified number, the character must spend time (it may be offline time) to repair the helmet himself at no cost. While some helmets protect from explosions, this is ONLY for explosions that occur when the wearer is carrying an explosive above them (i.e.- on the way to destroy a wall or gate).
| SMALL HELMET: | Races: Terminian, Ikana, Gerudo | Protection: Arrows | ||
| Number: 2 per day | Min. Helmet Crafter Level: 1 | |||
| Materials: None | Const. Cost: 4 rupees |
The small helmet is the basic helmet. In battle, it will protect the wearer from up to 3 blows to the head. After this number (which can be spread out among several battles), the wearer must repair the helmet. This does not require any money, but rather some time (can be done in offline time).
| SHIRO'S HELMET: | Races: Terminians, Ikana, Deku | Protection: Arrows, Bombs | ||
| Number: 1 per day | Min. Helmet Crafter Level: 2 | |||
| Materials: Stone from Termina Field | Const. Cost: 10 rupees |
A helmet created by the inconspicuous soldier who was said to have discovered the Stone Mask. He later created a stronger helmet for the Terminian Military, which has grown popular amongst the races. This helmet protects the wearer from arrows and bombs (up to 4 arrows and 1 bomb explosion). While normal bomb explosions will hurt the wearer, when running into battle with a bomb above one's head (to destroy a gate/door or the like), and the bomb explodes, it will not hurt the wearer. After either of the given numbers of maximum hits, the wearer must spend time to repair the helmet (no money is spent, they do it themselves). Its larger size allows it to fit around the heads of the Deku (with minor adjustments).
| SHELL HELMET: | Races: Zora, Gerudo | Protection: Arrows, Bombs | ||
| Number: 1 per day | Min. Helmet Crafter Level: 1 | |||
| Materials: Seashell | Const. Cost: 8 rupees |
The helmet worn by those who live near the sea. It is crafted from the seashells found on the ocean bottom, and protects the wearer from 2 arrow attacks and 1 bomb attack (see the above helmets for descriptions on what they protect). It offers an opening in the back of the head for the Zora fin to protrude out of, and Gerudos usually let their hair flow from this.
| KEG HELMET: | Races: Goron | Protection: Bombs, Powder Kegs | ||
| Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Helmet Crafter Level: 2 | |||
| Materials: Mountain Stone | Const. Cost: 15 rupees |
The helmet worn by Gorons who carry Powder Kegs into battle. This helmet is very sturdy and protects Goron warriors from 2 bomb blasts to the head or 3/4 of a Powder Keg Blast (blasts will occur when Gorons run into battle with bombs/powder kegs over their head). Why 3/4, you say? Well, the power of the Powder Keg is so great that it will temporarily knock out even one with this helmet on, which will cause the Goron to forfeit one turn.
COMBOS
Combos are a combination of both armor and helmets. However, the effect of the armor and helmets are not quite as helpful. All Combo Armor is deemed "Heavy". To create combo armor, the maker must be both an armorer and a helmet crafter. For the Minimum Constructor Level, the first number is the armorer level and the second is the helmet crafter's level. For example, a 3/2 under this category would require a Level 3 armorer that is also a Level 2 helmet crafter.
| TERMINIAN | Races: Terminians, Ikana, Gerudo | Helmet Protection: Arrows | ||
| COMBAT ARMOR: | Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Constructor Level: 2/1 | ||
| Materials: None | Const. Cost: 12 rupees |
The basic human combonation aromor. In battle it will protect the wearer from shots to the chest/stomach, and it will protect the wearer from one projectile to the head.
| DEKU COMBO | Races: Deku | Helmet Protection: Arrows | ||
| ARMOR: | Number: 1 per day | Min. Constructor Level: 1/2 | ||
| Materials: Swamp Metals | Const. Cost: 15 rupees |
The Deku version of Combination Armor. It is forged from metals commonly found in the Woodfall forest. The armor protects the wearer from the first successful hit of 1, as well as from up to 3 arrow hits in the head.
| ZORAN COMBAT | Races: Zora | Helmet Protection: Arrows | ||
| ARMOR: | Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Constructor Level: 2/2 | ||
| Materials: None | Const. Cost: 14 rupees |
The standard Zoran combination armor. This armor will protect the wearer from Chest/Stomach and left arm shots in Battle, while sustaining up to 2 arrows in the helmet. It does slow down the swimming of the Zora to that of a Level 2 Swimmer.
| GORON COMBO | Races: Goron | Helmet Protection: Bombs, Powder Kegs | ||
| ARMOR: | Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Constructor Level: 2/2 | ||
| Materials: None | Const. Cost: 11 rupees |
This is the normal combination armor of the Gorons, specifically designed to protect against explosives. This armor protects the wearer from the first 1 rolled in Combat, as well as up to 1 bomb explosion or 1/2 of a powder keg explosion (the Goron will lose two turns if the powder keg explodes, but will not die).
| DESERT COMBAT | Races: Gerudo | Helmet Protection: Arrows, Bombs | ||
| ARMOR: | Number: 1 per 4 days | Min. Constructor Level: 3/2 | ||
| Materials: Sand of the Great Bay | Const. Cost: 18 rupees |
This is the best of the Combination Armor. It does three different things: it protects the wearer from the first 1 or 2 rolled in combat, protects the wearer from chest/stomach hits in battle, and will protect the wearer's head from 1 arrow and 1 bomb hit.
