Tavo is a Mexican-Canadian who never took interest in playing a musical instrument until he was 14 years old. In his freshmen year of highschool, Tavo was asked by life long friend Greg Cook to join the band that he and some some guy were starting. Asking if he could play bass for this new band, he was immediately denied because the roll of bass player had already been taken by Greg himself. He was then denied of guitar player because the roll was also taken. Tavo settled for drums, which didn't really matter because he didn't know how to play any instruments anyway. Bade was formed by the three psuedo musicians and then broke up after their first show. Joining different groups Tavo was able to develope his technique greatly and learn other instruments from his other band mates. In the fall of 1996, Myagi was formed and the Rob Armstong & Tavo began. Tavo started a few side projects like Satan's Laundry which featured Tavo and fellow metal lover Christian Parlee as lead song writting team. Tavo also joined the legendary Bosnian Surbs which featured Tavo on guitar,organ & vocals. With the disbanding of Myagi, Tavo continued to play with Myagi frontman Andrew Mavor in Unit 5, and with Rob Armstrong in Eggs Benedict & The Fruit Flavored Spring Waters. EBTFFSW became Tasty and this became Tavo's main focus for over 2 years. Tavo and Rob hosted the jam nights at Sound & Fury under the name of Green Bean Almondine which continued in the jam band spirit of EBTFFSW. Tavo also formed some other band with Dan Nedecki & Kevin Swartwood from Flamingo Fetus. This project featured Tavo on guitar and vocals but never left Tavo's basement and disbanded. Tavo helped create MmmHmm which has taken on many different rosters, but held the same idea. Aside from playing, Tavo also recorded and engineered Apocalypso's self-titled album, the incomplete Project Aguado, as well as Tasty's second release, "Where Is Johnny Tone?" Tavo is currently working on an upcoming project with Dave and Rob called Registered Trademark, and is writting songs, some of which are going to be used for Tasty.
