We got up early the next morning to go to Swindon so that we could do some shopping. It was nice to see Alisson, Michael and Ian Lockhart.

We didn't do anything else in the afternoon.

The following morning after getting petrol we went to Bath with everyone again including Ian ( Shayne's Dad ).

We went for a walk across the River Avon and over the Pulteney Bridge in the shops. The Pulteney Bridge was built by Robert Adam in 1769 - 1774.

He walked past the Bath Abbey. but did not go in as there was a service going on, so we went to the Roman Baths Museum for a tour. The Celts found this area first. They dedicated it to their god Sulis. The Romans arrived in 43 AD were also inspired by the healing water. They combined Sulis with their own Goddess of Wisdom and Healing, Minerca. They built a beautiful town called Aquae Sulis which became one of the great medicinal and pleasure spas of the Roman World. I enjoyed the our we did and then we went to the Pump Room to try out some of the mineral water. I enjoyed the taste. You could taste the 36 minerals in it.

From here we went to Sally Lunns house which is the oldest building in Bath and took a couple of photo's. We went past the Postal Museum, but did not go in.

We continued our walk and went passed the Theatre Royal and onto Jane Austen's house. We did not go in there either. Jane Austen is a famous writer.

We then went to the Royal Crescent. It was the first one of it's kind to be built in 1774. It has 30 houses. These houses are some of the most expensive in England. We then went and walked around John Woods amazing Circus. These buildings were inspired by the Coliseum in Rome.

We then headed back to the car. We went for a drive to the outskirts of Bath so that Ian ( Shayne's Dad ) could show us where he grew up and lived. he also showed the school he went to.

It was a very busy and day with a lot of walking. The day was cold and rainy, but it turned out to be sunny and warm!

I woke up the next day and Shayne had already left for work as his holiday had come to an end.

Jenny and I went to Swindon as well to do last minute shopping. In the afternoon I packed my bags as the following evening I was due to leave this wonderful country that had taught me so much.
