We got up to another cool day and went to Cirencester again and went to the shops. When I was with Steve he told me that he thought there was going to be a fuel crisis and he was right. The pumps were getting dry and started to run low on fuel ourselves. There was a lot of panic and a lot of business lost a lot of money. The crisis went on for a week or so and I was getting a bit worried that I was not going to be able to go home with Heathrow going dry as well. We got up and went to Cheltenham with Shayne's Aunt and Uncles ( Alisson, Michael and Ian Lockhart ) We just did more shopping and walking around. In the evening we had a nice dinner with all of us. I was excited about the following day. We got up to an overcast rainy, but warm day and went to Warwick Castle. Shayne and I went into the Castle while Ian and Jenny went into Town. A fortified town (burh) was first established at Warwick by Aethelflaed, widow of King Ethelred, in 914-6. The town was fortified against the threat of Danish invasions. After the Norman Conquest in 1066, William the Conqueror moved northwards from London, to subdue resistance in the Midlands and Northern England. He founded the castle at Warwick which was run by Norman barons. Warwick castle was founded in 1086. Warwick had a population of around 1800 in those times. I had a great time in Warwick Castle and saw all there was to see. Shayne had been there before, so he knew what to see and where to go. I took lots of photo's of the castle. I went for a walk along the river nearby, as well as the Peacock Garden. We also went to the Rose Garden and the Conservatory. In the evening we went home and had a relaxing evening. We woke up to a warm, but very rainy day. Jenny, Shayne and I went to Swindon and then onto GreenBridge which is a small suburb that has a green bridge. We went to a shopping mall in GreenBridge and then we went back to Swindon's City Centre. Jenny then went home to cook food while Shayne and I waited for Tyrone, Shayne's older brother. I had not seen Tyrone in over a year, so it was nice to catch up all the news. We left Tyrone in Swindon and went back to South Cerney. We got up to another wet day. Shayne took me into town (South Cerney) and we went for a walk. He took me into the Post Office which has a shop in it as well as the post office. We then went to the Bow Wow which is a canal with water in it. We went for a long walk along the path and back. On the way back we went to a commoner's garden. This a garden that anyone can use to grow fruit and vegetables. You have to pay for your space in the garden and then you can grow anything on it provided it is not illegal. We then went back home and watched TV for the rest of the day. We woke up to another warmish day. We did not do much in the day. We went to the local Cafe called Londonis where I got some clotted cream which was delicious. In the evening Shayne's Grandfather came to visit, but Shayne and I sat upstairs watching TV.
