The Transformers really had an
affect on the scientists and engineers of my generation. They helped me
to aspire to be an engineer. The idea of fictional, living machines, fighting
with the fate of the universe hanging in the balance was/is so cool to
me. Let's not forget their abilily to transform into trucks, cars, guns,
air planes, cassetts, tape decks, tanks, robotic animals, and many other
variations. It fired my imagination. I collected the toys, watched the
cartoon, collected the comic books, and collected the trading cards. I
had a good time. I like/liked the characters. The robots had personalities
and life. It made me first wonder if artificial life was possible and it's
implications.
