Beast Machines Stills Characters
Beast Machines is a new show. It started September 18, 1999. It tells what happened after thr Beast Wars. Yep, you've guessed it: more war...this time the Transformers home planet, Cybertron in their present. Megatron was able to turn the tables on the Maximals on the way back, take control of the planet and eliminated all free will by taking the transformers' sparks (minds and spirits from them) so only his will rules the planet. Five transformers survive the purge, four of them are Maximal survivors of the Beast Wars. Megatron tries to destroy them using sparkless drones he calls Vehicons. The Maximals were reformatted (new bodies and new powers), melded into a balance of organic tissue and machine. And their transforming ability is no longer instinctual or mechanical--more spiritual. They have to remain focused, and not emotional. The Maximal goal is to restore organic life to Cybertron, restore the other Transformers, and stop Megatron. Megatron has taken three sparks and reprogrammed them into his lieutenants and 2 of them are the maximal friends: Rhinox and Silverbolt. Rhinox is aware of what happened to him and he's turned on both Megatron and Optimus.
The series is deeply connected to the original series. There was a two part episode on Vector Sigma and it's key, a machine that gives transformers life. And the key turns organic life to metal. The stakes in the show are so high, never been higher.
I like what Optimus Primal said when he was trying to explain what happened to his troops and how they transform. He was the first to master the new skill.
"Free your minds. Let go of all thinking. Find the balance within yourself....Only then can you truly say, 'I am transformed!'"
I liked the quote because it made me think of what the Bible says about faith. To follow the Christian life we must believe and trust in God and the salvation he gives us.
"Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God-what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2
When we do what the Bible says only then can we truly say, "I am Transformed!"
