Weeds, Weeds, Weeds Everywhere! How to get rid of weeds within a Southern St Augustine lawn. April 17th, 2019

As the people of the lawncare cloth, we generally discuss the weed strategy in terms of prevention using pre-emergents. But what happens when we have a few pop up despite our profilactic treatments? We have to go to a weed fighter. In the case of southern lawns consisting of Centipede or St Augustine grass we're in luck as there is a post emergent weed fighter that can handle the job without killing off our turf. I'm speaking of Atrazine, a great sword in the battle against the unholy weed army. Atrazine is not only powerful, but economical as well. Just 4oz mixed with a gallon of water is enough to treat 1,000 sq/ft of weeds. A bottle typically costs less than $15 for enough to treat a 5,000 sq/ft yard twice over, and it kills nearly 90% of weeds you're going to deal with. Talk about bang for your buck!
