Under construction. This page will list our accomplishments for this year's 2007-2008 season. It may be messy because Sarah is not a hackzor.

9/29/07: PAQT at Princess Anne, run on NAQT IS71-A
Due to the unfortunate temporary loss of the minibus to an accident, we loaded into parents' cars and headed off to Virginia Beach for the first tournament of many freshmen's careers. The A Team defeated Collegiate in a Barnes v. Barnes final at this inaugural tournament to qualify a team for NAQT HSNCT right offf the bat. The B Team placed third, narrowly missing qualification due to an unfortunate 5 point loss to Collegiate.
A Team: Andrew Goodfellow, Erik, Haley, Palmer Mebane, Anant Shukla
B Team: Sarah Angelo, Quint Carr, Matt Kluge, Greg Tito
C Team: Andi Davis, Catherine Jansch, Cameron Orth, Nitya Rao
D Team: Grayson Hartfield, Jason Kong, Alex Tyler, Eric Tyler, Dominique Vines

10/6/07: Hieronymous Bosch Mirror at William and Mary. A team consisting of Sarah, Andrew, Greg, Matt, and Cameron ventured forth to the first college tournament for all of us (the 07 A Team notably also attended a college tournament, Will and Mehdi played in this tournament and did well). Quint defected to the scab team. We went 6-5, defeating such teams as UNC and UMD B.

10/13/07: TJIAT, run on IS68.
I'm compiling this in July, and stats weren't posted for this tournament, so I can't detail teams below the B Team, unfortunately (anyone who has this info and cares should email Sarah). The A Team finished 5th. The B Team went 2-3 and failed to make the play-offs.
A Team: Andrew Goodfellow, Palmer Mebane, Anant Shukla, Greg  Tito
B Team: Sarah Angelo, Quint Carr, Erik Haley, Matt Kluge
Other teams: unknown (sorry)

10/27/07: Cavalier Classic
This was a disappointing day for us as everyone on the A Team was having an off day. The B Team was one question away from advancing further into the playoffs. It was also the first tournament for several more freshmen, congratulations to the D Team for going 2-4.
A Team: Andrew Goodfellow, Palmer Mebane, Anant Shukla, Greg Tito
B Team: Sarah Angelo, Quint Carr, Erik Haley, Matt Kluge, Cameron Orth
C Team: Kyle Herman, Catherine Jansch, Ben Kenzer, Nitya Rao
D Team: Tommy Casalaspi, Grayson Hartfield, Jason Kong, Ted Tanner

11/3/07: ACF Fall
A team consisting of Sarah, Erik, Cameron, and Greg made the short trip to VCU for a mirror of ACF Fall, another college tournament. We went 6-7, finishing around 7th, with 3/4 of the team winning scoring prizes.

12/15/07: Cave Spring Invitational (CSI)
While attendance was hurt due to competing with the Freshmen Lock-In, 3 teams piled into the minibus and left school early for this highly enjoyable overnighter. The A Team went undefeated, beating Collegiate in the finals, while the B Team finished 4th. Greg and Sarah were 3rd and 4th in individual scoring, respectively, while Dr. Barnes and Mr. Kenzer took part in a Coaches Tournament, finishing 4th and 3rd, respectively.
A Team: Sarah Angelo, Andrew Goodfellow, Erik Haley, Greg Tito
B Team: Quint Carr, Ben Kenzer, Cameron Orth, Nitya Rao
C Team: Alan Chang, Grayson Hartfield, Catherine Jansch, Eric Tyler

1/12/08: Housh Classic (TJ's hoursewritten event)
This tournament notably featured the B Team's shocking upset of Gonzaga. The A and B Teams played off for 7th and 8th, with the A Team winning. TJ didn't post stats, so I can't verify the teams other B exactly. This tournament also saw our C Team trade cards with someone so they didn't have to play another team from their school (for future reference, don't do that)
A Team: 4 of Andrew Goodfellow, Erik Haley, Palmer Mebane, Anant Shukla, Greg Tito
B Team: Sarah Angelo, Matt Kluge, Cameron Orth, Nitya Rao
C Team: Tommy Casalaspi, Cory Hogakker, Catherine Jansch, Maryam Patton
D Team: existed. I think.

1/19/08: VHSL Districts, hosted by Deep Run
A team consisting of Sarah, Greg, Anant, Andrew, Cameron, Erik, and Ben went undefeated to win the Colonial District. Freeman placed second, with both teams advancing to Regionals.

2/2/08: VHSL Regionals, hosted by Deep Run
A team consisting of Sarah, Greg, Andrew, Anant, Erik, Ben, and Quint went undefeated to win the Central Region. Freeman placed second, with both teams advancing to states.

2/9/08: Gonzaga Academic Tournament (GAT)
A team consisting of Sarah, Andrew, Cameron, and Matt squeezed into Cameron's mom's car (Dr. B. was administering admissions tests) and went on to do surprisingly well, finishing tied for third (as TJ had already left rather than play off). The team suffered only one loss, a crushing defeat by State College A (the eventual winner) to end our playoff run.

2/23/08: A last minute tournament to replace the canceled Cav Open run by VCU at Collegiate on IS74
The A Team finished 4th-ish. This tournament also featured a 645-0 loss by the B Team to Dorman B after an earlier loss by less than 100 points. Such is NAQT.
A Team: Andrew Goodfellow, Erik Haley, Anant Shukla, Greg Tito
B Team: Sarah Angelo, Tommy Casalaspi, Ben Kenzer, Matt Kluge, Cameron Orth

3/1/08: VHSL States, hosted at William and Mary
The team lost to TJ twice, finishing second to them. Greg, Andrew, Palmer, and Anant played most of the time, with Sarah playing 1/3 of a match against her home school, Freeman. Ben attended but did not play.

3/14/08-3/16/06: DACQ Weekend of Quizbowl Goodnesss hosted by GMU
Sarah fared respectably in the Literature Singles, drawing a tough room in the first round of the playoffs to be eliminated, along with TJ's Keshav, by Nick and Todd of Dorman. The stats for the weekend appear to have been eaten by Chris Ray's staff, but we did okay (except when Stuyvesant and Dorman insisted on killing our B Team). I promise. The weekend was hectic and frustrating at times, with teams leaving and long periods of time sitting around doing nothing. However, it was an excellent opportunity to play good teams on good questions before nationals. Saturday was a mirror of a novice tournament while Sunday was run on NAQT Sectionals.
Saturday A Team: Andrew Goodfellow, Erik Haley, Anant Shukla, Greg Tito
Saturday B Team: Sarah Angelo, Quint Carr, Tommy Casalaspi, Palmer Mebane
Sunday A Team: Saturday plus Palmer
Sunday B Team: Saturday minus Palmer plus Cameron Orth

3/22/08: MUT Mirror at VCU
This college tournament was attended by Sarah, Tommy, Andrew, and Cameron. We went 7-4 and won Division II. Since Spring Break was beginning and Dr. B. was out of town (Cameron's mom coached us again), Sarah got to trophy-sit what may be the most ridiculously-huge trophy won this season, excepting possibly Cave Spring.

4/19/08: NAQT States at UVA
The A Team pulled off a thoroughly awesome win over TJ A to win the tournament, and the B Team placed 3rd by virtue of a 5 point win over Collegiate in excellent revenge for Princess Anne. The field was just barely large enough for the B Team to qualify for NAQT HSNCT.
A Team: Andrew Goodfellow, Erik Haley, Palmer Mebane, Greg Tito
B Team: Sarah Angelo, Matt Kluge, Cameron Orth, Nitya Rao
C Team: Alan Chang, Grayson Hartfield, Catherine Jansch, Ted Tanner

4/26/08: Housewritten Academic Venture of Chaos (HAVOC), run by Sarah Angelo and Cameron Orth
This tournament never made our website due to assorted issues. Freeman won and Collegiate placed second, with both qualifying for PACE NSC. James Monroe also qualified via wildcard. This tournament was highly successful and a great experience for some of our younger players to help make GSAC XVI awesome.

5/3/08: VCU Season Finale Tournament
People dropped out at the last minute to result in a two-person B Team. The A Team notably defeated Dorman B and lost to TJ A on a bounce-back during Tommy's first experience with PACE format.
A Team: Sarah Angelo, Tommy Casalaspi, Erik Haley, Greg Tito
B Team: Quint Carr, Cameron Orth

5/24/08-5/25/08: NAQT HSNCT at the Wyndham O'Hare in Chicago
This tournament was awesome. Several of us had not flown in recent memory, so that was interesting, and we ran into none other than Daichi Ueda at the Art Institute Friday night. The A Team got to stay at the nice hotel with the B Team in the Holiday Inn Express next door, but we had free internet and they didn't. The B Team also had to stay an extra night and was coached/supervised by Mrs. Lasswell. We got to play many teams we hadn't seen before, met a lot of people we'd heard of but never seen, and got to hang out with some pretty cool teams/people, as well as read questions late into the night. We placed respectably, standings can be found on NAQT's website, which is linked from ours. The final had to be one of the most exciting games I've ever witnessed.
A Team: Andrew Goodfellow, Erik Haley, Palmer Mebane, Anant Shukla, Greg Tito
B Team: Sarah Angelo, Quint Carr, Tommy Casalaspi, Matt Kluge, Cameron Orth

5/31/08-6/1/08: PACE NSC at GMU
Despite a monsoon occurring during lunch one day, this tournament was also quite awesome and the A Team finished in the Top 12. Mehdi, Will, and Evan were in attendance as were assorted other cool people. The final was also an excellent game, as at HSNCT. We unfortunately had to leave before the All Star Game due to a need for lunch, before which Quint was nearly run over by Charlie Dees, but managed to remember our Top 12 plaque. However, Will didn't know that, which led Sarah to end up having to deliver Chattahoochee's plaque to Mr. Rountree at ACE Camp since Will thought it was ours. All plaques have now reached their proper schools, as Brookwood also forgot and recovered theirs. No plaques were harmed in the making of this tournament.
A Team: Sarah Angelo, Andrew Goodfellow, Erik Haley, Greg Tito
B Team: Tommy Casalaspi, Quint Carr, Matt Kluge, Cameron Orth
