I was born and raised in Southern California. I met and married my husband all within three months. He was a widower, 11 years my senior, with three small boys. He had decided to move "back to the land" to raise his sons. Within two weeks of getting married we upped and moved ourselves onto 40 acres on the Eastern Slopes of the Sierras. We lived there for ten years without electricity - we heated with wood and used kerosene lights. Luckily we had a well, so we had running water and didn't have to use an outhouse! We also used propane and had a regular cook stove and a propane refrigerator. While living "on the mountain" we had another son and FINALLY a beautiful daughter. We moved off the mountain in 1985 and in 1990 moved to the East coast, leaving the three oldest boys in California. Number One Son, Greg, married Amanda and they have a little boy named Jacob and a little girl named Payton; Number Two Son, David, works for a Cruise Line and is married to Kimberly; and Number Three Son, Chuck, and his wife, Lisa have two daughters, Desiree (Dae) and Barbara (Bee). Chuck and Lisa are currently expecting their third child in May and are hoping for a boy. The three boys and their families are still living in California. We try to make a trip once or twice a year to California to visit with them. Number Four Son, Brian, is married to Melanie and are living in Maryland with their little daughter, Cheyenne. Our one and only daughter, Krista, is in her last year at Syracuse University. Plans are in the works for the BIG wedding in May 2001, a week after her graduation! After she graduates and the wedding, the plan is to move to California where she wants to go onto law school.
As you can tell we've all been very busy! Four years ago we didn't have any grandkids and now we have 5 and another on the way! And this next year should be just as busy. You can see pictures of the kids and grandkids in the Photo Album below. I hope you enjoy the pictures and my other pages!
