Welcome to the website of the Martin Luther King Cultural Center, Inc. located in Beacon, New York.

The Martin Luther King Cultural Center, Inc. (MLKCC) is a community based organization.
It is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization founded in August 1969 for the purpose of serving the needs of the Beacon community and
surrounding area.

MLKCC began as a library founded by ten
teenagers with the help of several adults.
Because little was known about Black history, they came together and formed the Martin Luther King Library. Many books have been donated over the years and we now have one of the largest selections of Black and Hispanic literature in the Hudson Valley.

Today, in addition to our library we provide valuable services to the young people and elderly of the community.
