Ladder Rules

The MLB Online ladder league is a system that works for all online players. Everyone can play, no set times and no set opponents. The ladder has people ranked by the amount of wins/points they get from those wins. Below is a small example of the rankings

POINTS
Ok now your saying what the heck are the points for. Well wins are good, but whom did you go against to get them? Ties in points are resolved by a player's record. The players with the higher winning percentage will be ranked higher. If there is a tie on winning percentage and points, the person with the most wins. If it is still a tie, it will go by name.

RULES

  • For the ladder you can use any deck you want for each game. No set decks at all.
  • All MLB Showdown rules in the rule book and rulings by WOTC must be strictly followed.
  • Each player must report the games using the report a game by filling out the form.  By clicking here.
  • Players must complete 5 innings for the game to be counted as official. If a game does not last 5 innings, please contact the person and schedule the rest of the game if you wish to receive points for that game.
  • Forfeits will only be charged as follows:
    • If a game goes longer than 5 innings, a forfeit will be charged to any player that leaves the chatroom for longer than 15 minutes.
    • If a game does not meet the 5 inning rule, a forfeit will be charged to any player that leaves for longer than 15 minutes and is losing by 7 runs.

CHEATING
Cheating will not be tolerated. All reports of cheating should be mailed to me (KJ_DA_MAN). Each case of cheating will be logged and investigated. When you e-mail me, please describe in detail what happened. If possible, please have a witness and their e-mail address so that I may contact them. If it is determined that a person has cheated, the following penalties will occur:

  • If you have positive points, your point total will be reduced to 0 or by 20 points (depending on which would be more severe).
  • If you have negative or zero (0) points, your point total will be reduced to the lowest point total in the ladder not to exceed a loss of more than 20 points.

If you are caught cheating a second time, you will be removed from the ladder permanently.

WHERE
I prefer you play in the yahoo chat room at the MLB Showdown club. There is a dice utility built in. All you have to do is type /roll d20 to roll. When you start a game each person must roll the dice to see which pitcher in their rotation will start. 1-5 is pitcher One, 6-10 is Two, 11-15 is Three and 16-20 is Four. Then you can roll again for home team if you want or just choose between yourselves.
