Chopper Bike:  Chopper on Fire!
After a few days of rainy, cloudy weather, we got a couple warm days and I've been able to complete the painting of the chopper bike parts.

The paint scheme has changed several times over the last few weeks, and today was no different.  After painting the flames on the swingarm, I began to wonder about the plan to paint gunmetal flames at the front of the frame to tie in with the gunmetal handlebars.  I decided against that, becasue the frame's paint had turned out so well that I hated to risk it with wetsanding, masking, and painting flames.

However, with the frame blue, the gunmetal handlebars looked strange.  So, I used the extra flame tape-offs I had cut out for the frame to make the center of the handlebars blue flaming into the gunmetal.  There were some mistakes, as the wetsanding got too deep in spots and some of the gunmetal near the blue flames is thin and streaky.  The clearcoat smoothed it out some, and it'll do for now...  I'm ready to ride!.
