Garry is the project manager and has started gluing roadbed down.
Track is laid and painted and ballasting begins. Using a funnel and a brush makes it go fast and easy.
After the glue is dry the track work is done.
It's always good to put on a coat of primer to seal the wood.
Now to build the framework for the removeable mountain top. Garry is using blue styrofoam to get the basic shape.
Several peices will be cut and glued together.
Foam in a can is used to fill il the gaps.
A putty knife helps to smooth it out.
Looks like the bottom half is shaping up. Now to start on the top half.
Looks like he does his best work with his hands.
Garry is using some wallboard compound right over the styrofoam.
The basic shape of the mountain on the first module.
Now to add some texture,
Now to fill in above the portal.
This portal was hand made from a peice of styrofoam.
Add some paint and ground cover.
Looks like the tunnel needs some work,
All this time we have been making trees. Even visitors have helped.
