Treatment of Domestic Wastewater
in India: Significance of Pond Systems
sponsored by Swedish International Developmental Cooperation (Sida) [P. I.
Professor Shyam R. Asolekar]
Responsibilities: Overall management of the project including
literature review, report writing, field work for assessment of wastewater
treatment plant across the India, Estimation of Interfacial Oxygen Mass Transfer
Coefficient, Development and Implementation of Protocol for Design of Natural
Pond Systems, Calibration and Validation of the Proposed Models.
(b)
Evaluation of Performance and
Management Practices of CETPs in States of Maharashtra and Gujarat, India
sponsored by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), New Delhi [P. I.
Professor Shyam R. Asolekar]
Responsibilities: Overall management of the project including
literature review, report writing, field work for assessment of combine effluent
treatment plants (CETPs), Questionnaire Survey, Sampling of CETPs, Interviews
with CETP and Industry Representatives, Interaction with SPCBs and CPCB, CETP-wise
Data Analyses, Diagnosis, and Suggestions for Improvement and Articulation of
Recommendations (collective interpretation)
(c)
Physico-chemical ex-situ
remediation of soils, sediments and aquifers contaminated by hazardous waste

Responsibilities: Partial management of the project limited to
literature review, report writing, and field work for sampling of contaminated
soils and sediments.

Cost Effective and
Environmentally Sound Dismantling of Obsolete Vessels sponsored
sponsored by The European Union (EU) [P. I. Professor Shyam R. Asolekar]
Responsibilities: Partial management of the project limited to
literature review, report writing, and design & development of wastewater
treatment strategy for a typical ship breaking yard, attending project review
meetings.
3. Consultancy
Assisted Professor Asolekar in execution of several consultation projects mostly related to water and wastewater management.
Responsibilities: Over all management of the projects, visits to client site, collection of primary & secondary data, treatability studies, process design, report writing etc.
Project: Delineation and dissemination of green corporate accounting procedures - with case studies in medium sized Textile, Pharmaceutical and chemical Industries sponsored by the World Bank [P. I. Prof. (Late) P. Khanna]
Responsibilities: Overall management of the project including literature review, report writing, material, water, and energy audit, EIA, analysis of various water & wastewater parameters, industry-wise data analyses, diagnosis, and suggestions for improvement in existing, HSE facility in concerned industry and articulation of recommendations.
