Ever heard of the Invisible Web? Check out this website: http://library.rider.edu/scholarly/rlackie/Invisible/Inv_Web.html Here's what their intro says: "If only I had known!" was the bitter cry of the searcher who relied just on search engines to search the Web. Although many popular search engines boast about their ability to index information on the Web, more of it has become invisible to their searching spiders. Much of the Web is hiding information from us, but we can access this hidden content! Learn how you can reveal the secrets of these dark, hiding places. More links for information or searching on the invisible web: IncyWincy: the invisible web search engine www.invisible-web.net: The Invisible Web Directory Finding Information on the Internet: A Tutorial (at UC Berkely teaching library) The Invisible Web guide picks at about.com (Definitely go here!) With that said, I don't feel the need to put more links here. Go check these websites out and you may find more information than you can process. I know it's going to take me a while!

Yahoo provided this information on their "Ask Yahoo" module for Feb. 6. (It is a direct quote so don't give any credit to me for the searching or wording. It's all from Yahoo.) A Yahoo! Search on "learn to play guitar" resulted in several promising candidates, as well as the related search terms "learn to play guitar online" and "learn to play guitar free." Ask Yahoo! dutifully investigated the most popular guitar tutorial sites listed in the category. Here is what we found: ChordFind - this is pretty basic, but handy. A simple collection of chord configurations on a Java-enabled fretboard. Guitar Noise - Very chatty, personable tutorial along with plenty of interviews. Guitar Tricks - packed with short video clips and sound files! If you have a fast connection, this is a great site. Guitar Lesson World - This site has gotten the thumbs up from Rolling Stone, Acoustic Guitar, and the dearly departed Yahoo! Internet Life. It's packed with pictures, handy lists, and sound clips, and the verbiage is kept to a minimum.
Also from "Ask Yahoo." There are several web sites that can teach you how to knit. Our Knitting and Crocheting category in the Yahoo! Directory is jam-packed with dozens of how-to sites. Here are a few of the more popular introductory resources: Tom Farrel's Learn How to Knit is a simple step-by-step guide that features helpful photographs of your friendly host elbow-deep in yarn. Tom recommends starting with metal needles, and an inexpensive, worsted weight yarn. Learn to Knit & Crochet addresses the difference between knitting and crocheting. Crocheting requires a single hook that is used to make rows of similar loops, while knitting requires two needles to create a number of different kinds of stitches. Vardhman Yarn's How to Knit kicks things off with a basic "Casting On" tutorial. This is the first slipknot that serves as the foundation of your knitting odyssey. Vogue Knitting, a glossy periodical dedicated to the "rapidly growing hand knit market," hosts a friendly tutorial with excellent illustrations of the basic knots. You'll also find a glossary of abbreviations and terms.
