| FEAR Fear licks at me like angry flames Determined to destroy. Enveloping whatever means Of rebuff I employ. I fight at it and as I feel I'll succumb to it's heat, A soothing calm steals over me. And fear makes it's retreat. Revelling in the luxury I ask the question-why? Why did it reach such searing height Then fade away and die? The answer is that it was quenched By yet a greater fire; The burning passion of God's love Became fear's funeral pyre. And though another comes again; It's fury greater still, I know that God can put it out, And, I know that He will! Copyright - Marjorie K. Bell |
