Why study 'Monastic Methods'
There are many Methods of martial Arts in the world today.  Some are very good; some are bad! The bad are seemingly the 'commercialized - sporting methods who imulate martial art philosophy & strategy.   It is not uncommon for individuals to attain 'Yudansha' (black belt) in  2 years or less.  In many cases, one might find attainment of a black belt in less than 2 years.

Most 'Monastic' Methods of Budo (martial way) adhere to strict practices, which are taught over many years.  Of course, there are many 'Non-monatic' Methods which render good information through Teachings over long term periods of 4- 6 years before awarding their students black belt.

Throughout  many centuries , a individual had to endure much strife, pain and frustration working his way through the many chambers of information, in order to successfully reach 'the Top' of his craft.  This was no less indicative of the 'Budo-Ka' ; the individual who entered martial arts training.  It was not likened to today's mentality of seeking out a martial arts training facility with thoughts in mind of it being a hobby or simply, something to do.

Today, there are many martial arts training facilities to choose from.  Individuals do not know which is which, or to what they should study.  They are at the mercy of 'word of mouth', referral, which facility is the closest and the cheapest.  In other words, it is nothing more than 'a throw of the dice' as to what is often available.  However, the 'Serious Student' may think differently, that is, after he has investigated many of these facilities in his community, possibly joining one or more over the years, until he finally realizes what is good Philosophy, Teachings & Doctrine; and what is not.

We do not want to discredit any particular Method, mainly, in most cases it is not the 'Method' of study that is bad, rather, mainly 'bad teachers' who discredit themselves, as well as their Teachings.  Persons engaging in 'Immoral Conduct', 'Un-ethical practices regarding other Teachers & their Methods of Practices', or, what we refer to as 'Black Belt Politics', run rampid in today's martial arts communities.  What used to be reflected as 'Spiritual' concepts portrayed in the martial arts, have given way to 'the Egocentric'.

The
Mushindo Kempo Association, U.S.A Headquarters, believes that it can offer those who are genuinely seekers as serious students, a  Method of study in which will elevate the student to a higher proficiency level, in mind, body and spirit.  It is not easily accomplished in which the student can expect immediately attainment of black belt.  As this is a worthy goal, the student understands that there are many subjects he/she will have to study.  Expectant time reaching the black belt grade is approximately   5 - 8 years, depending on if a student has formerly engaged in good martial arts training prior to his admittance into this Organization.
