Slide 11 - Coca-Cola CLASSIC!

Coca-Cola CLASSIC!

Now HERE is something you don't see much. This is a fully working 10 ounce bottle Coca-Cola vending machine. It costs a relatively steep 1 dollar to get a bottle from it, but if you love "real" souvenirs you cannot miss this. It is right off US-41 in Copper Harbor. Some of the bottles the vending machine has in it must have been in circulation now for 15-20 years+.

Copper Harbor weather station

In the distance is what I believe to be THE Copper Harbor weather station. This picture was taken on a Copper Harbor beach part of the Fort Wilkins State Forest. Can anybody verify this?

Slide 13 - Airplane!

Airplane!

This particular picture requires a fair bit of explaining:

One day during our great vacation, my family was sitting peacefully at our camp site when we suddenly heard the familiar zoom of propeller-based airplanes. Given that an airport or even an airfield (or even a level, grassy surface) is nowhere near by, we were given a bit of a start. We looked over to Lake Fanny Hooe only to see four such planes landing in it! Now, the owner of the campgrounds/resort couldn't let these people just dock for free, so he offered them two choices: $20 per plane for a couple of hours of docking, or take my daughter (I think she was 8 or so) around on one of your airplanes a bit. Well, they chose the latter and the owner's daughter got her first flight in a REAL aircraft. I caught this snapshot when the plane was coming in to land in the lake.
