| Thomas HOLE, eldest son of Charles HOLE and Letitia BUTLER, was born on the 15th November, 1836 at Glastonbury in Somerset, England. Thomas arrived in Australia in 1860 with a valuable consignment of stock for Thomas AUSTIN of "Barwon Park", Winchelsea. He was employed by AUSTIN as a Groom for a number of years, and built a blue stone house on adjoining land. He married a local girl, Mary GLADMAN, daughter of William GLADMAN and Rhoda HURST, on the 14th of June 1864 at St. Thomas's Church of England, Winchelsea, Victoria. Thomas and Mary had 12 children, Charles, MaryAnn, Edmund ,Edith, WilliamThomas, an Unnamed Female, Elizabeth, Rhoda Letitia, Frederick James, Sidney, Alfred Ernest, and Ethel Priscilla. The family remained in Winchelsea, some of the children left after marrying On the 2nd September, 1917 at the age of 81 years Thomas suffered several severe asthma attacks while visiting his daughter Mary Ann in Chilwell, Geelong and died as a result. Mary was to survive Thomas by almost 5 years, dying on the 17th of August, 1922, at the age of 77 years. Both Thomas and Mary are buried at the Winchelsea Cemetery |

They had 2 children. Photo MARY ANN, born 27th January, 1867 at Winchelsea, married Denis CROMER, on the 5th February, 1890 at St. Thomas's Church, Winchelsea. They had 8 children. EDMUND, born 18th October, 1868 at Winchelsea, married Catherine McLOUGHLIN on the 1st January, 1901 at St. Mary's Church, Geelong. They had 6 children. Photo EDITH, born 15th February, 1871 at Winchelsea, married James Alexander ROSS, on the 20th May 1897 at the Presbyterian Church, Birregurra. They had 3 children. WILLIAM THOMAS, born 13th April 1874 at Winchelsea and died 11 months later on the 14th March, 1875 at Winchelsea. UNNAMED FEMALE, born 13th April 1874 at Winchelsea died 13th April, 1874 at Winchelsea. ELIZABETH, born 24th December 1875 at Winchelsea, married Edgar Hardwick COOPER on the 28th August 1901 at St.Thomas's Church of England,Winchelsea.They had 3 children. Photo RHODA LETITIA, born 25th April, 1878 at Winchelsea, married James LUCAS on the 24th December, 1900 at Melbourne.They had 11 children. Photo FREDERICK JAMES, born 31st August, 1880 at Winchelsea, married Bridget BYRNE on the 28th April, 1910 at St. John the Baptist Church, Winchelsea. They had 2 children. Photo SIDNEY,, born 17th March, 1882 at Winchelsea, married Sarah McLOUGHLIN (sister of Catherine, Edmunds wife) on the 18th June 1932 at St John the Baptist Church, Winchelsea. They had no children. ALFRED ERNEST,, born 7th October, 1883, at Winchelsea, married Maggie Mitchell CALDOW on the 24th September, 1919 at the Presbyterian Church, Winchelsea. Photo They had 5 children.
