I first learned to quilt in 1992 when my closest friend from high school married. My mom made her a full sized bed quilt and I made her pillow shams. My mother taught me how to cut strips, corner the fabric and then quilt the sewn material. I worked hard to complete the pillow shams for her wedding in August.
Shortly after I learned about a friend's first pregnancy. I bought some panels and quilted around the patterns. I was still intimidated by the thought of building a full quilt.

A neighbour had her first child, and I took this opportunity as my chance to try to creat a baby quilt. I returned to my mother and asked for some more ideas and lessons on how to build a whole quilt. She helped me select fabrics and a pattern. She walked me through the building and quilting of this quilt. I hand quilted the outline of a rabbit on each pattern. I was hooked.
I bought a new sewing machine and started buying fabrics. I quickly realized that quilting is not a cheap hobby to get into, but that has not stopped me.
Enjoy going through my galleries of the quilts I've made. As I finish more quilts, I will add them to my pages.
