Wizards free agent forward Popeye Jones has signed with the team that originally drafted him, the Dallas Mavericks. After missing out on Rashard Lewis, the Mavs straight away moved in on Popeye, and signed him to a 1-year deal.
Wizards general manager Wes Unseld confirmed today that Patrick Ewing has agreed to join the team as an assistant coach. Ewing, who announced his retirement and his new position at a press conference in New York City Tuesday afternoon, finished his 17-year NBA career with 24,815 points and 11,606 rebounds. Read More
Today the Washington Wizards announced they had traded Rip Hamilton, Hubert Davis and Bobby Simmons to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for All-Star Jerry Stackhouse, Ratko Varda and Brian Cardinal.
