This is a website for a local cafe shop in Manchester, NH named Lava Java. This cafe has an array of sweet and savory treats as well as an array of coffee/tea drinks. This cafe is welcoming and with free WiFi for guest to use. This website will focus on the menu of what food and drink products are served. The number one result for the website should make customers come in. Customers should see the website and want to come into the cafe to get something to eat and or drink. The website should also encourage customers to want to stay and hang out at the cafe. The purpose of the cafe is to serve a food while in a cozy/working environment. This cafe should be a place customers feel comfortable to work or relax while also enjoying a snack or coffee/tea beverage.
The website for Lava Java cafe will have a hierarchy site structural theme. For the cafe website there won’t be a lot of information other than the menu. Once under the “Menu” heading, the pages will flow in a linear sequence structure with subheadings to separate the different menu items. Under the “Directions” and “Contact Us” headings, there will be just one single page with no other subheadings because there is not a lot of information needed on those pages.
The general design of the website is meant to be very clean looking with a background color of each page, and sub page being white. All writing is black, and different fonts and sizes show the difference of headings and subheadings. In order for the website to look clean and simple, I chose to only have black and white for the colors. I have used only three different fonts on this website to make it cohesive. All the main headings and navigation buttons are one font, while all body text is a different font.
There is always room for improvement and that includes improvements for this website. The main reason for the website is for consumers of the cafe. If those people find the website hard to use or confusing, then the website will need to be more user friendly. Also, things such as the size of the wording on the website might be hard for some to see and it might have to be corrected. Constructive criticism is very helpful and should be accepted at any business.
