A Few Pics From The Smithsonian
Here are a few of the pictures I took at the Smithsonian this weekend, all of these mostly on the Earth's Children theme.  Sorry about the low quality, but the only camera I have with me right now is my cell phone!  Anyway, these all link to the full sized images, so take a look if you like... also, for CYA, Earth's Children and any characters, concepts, plots, etc. associated with it are, I assume, the property of Jean M. Auel, and I am in no way trying to step on her toes or make a dime from her work.  These images are displayed with the descriptions listed purely for my enjoyment and that of anyone who'd like to take a look.  Also, just added a link to Don's Maps there under the 'Creb' photo, and a couple to EC and JMA in this box.  He has a lot more on his site than I do, so hopefully he won't mind me adding this!
This is the skull cast of the Neanderthal man from the Shanidar I site in Iran who I assume inspired Jean M. Auel's Creb in Clan of the Cave Bear.
Some of the figurines seen on various of JMA'a Earth's Children maps, displayed at the Smithsonian.  No idea if they're originals or replicas, of course!

More figurines like those above.
And a few more still!
A Neanderthal burial diorama that very closely parallels JMA's description of the character Iza's burial in Clan of the Cave Bear.
